Hi N., I feel for you. First of all, take a deep breath. It sounds like you need to find a job soon, so why don't you look for day cares, schools near where you live while you are looking for work. You didn't mention what field or position you are looking - I know many recruiters in various industries. Good luck, your kids are young & as a working mom of 3 (4, 4 & 3) I understand. Good luck and I'd love to help in any way that I can. All my best,

Have you considered working at night or even gravyard shift? I am married and have two children (3 and 10 months). I have the gravyard shift job Call Center Job for over 2 years (5 pm till 3 am). The past 6 months are more challenging as my husband works 6 days a week (6 - 8 hours a day). In the past he worked part time. I know doing babysitting does not give you much money. Maybe something to start since you need to take care your two kids anyway. Watch other kids play with your kids and get paid. We have one car. For long time there was one driver (my husband). I failed my road test several times and finally passed in Oct. Good luck! What city and state do you live? Do you have close friend and family members nearby that can watch the kids before or after school if you send the kid to half day preschool?

Maybe try finding work at a daycare that your kids can go to. Then maybe you can have your kids go there for a discount, and you can still be there with them.

Have you ever heard of Market America? It is a product brokerage company that focuses on building customer relationships through our amazing products and the power of people. I was first introduced to the products because my daughter (2 1/2) is such a picky eater. I ordered her some vitamins, Might-a-mins, and both my kids fell in love with them. They have an amazing delivery system, all natural, and taste great!
Then I was curious about what this business was. The girl that sold me the vitamins was staying at home with her baby and creating an income from home. I work in property management and really missed being at home with my kids and I'm paying my babysitter more than I get to keep for myself. She gets $1600 per month and every day with my kids.
So I was shown the opportunity and immediately fell in love with it. I have now been building my business for about 2 months and by the end of May I will have enough income stream to build it from home and fire my boss. That day is just around the corner.
Let me know if you want to know more about the opportunity to do the same. Just remember, "if you do nothing, everything will stay the same." Just be smart in the decision you decide to take.

First write all you need to get done down and put number by the priority. Then accomplish getting that one item done before moving on to the next one.

I have a lot of the same issues and concerns right now and remind myself worrying will esculate the problem not allow me to think well and I can only do one thing at a time.

First, figure out what you want to do, if you don't have a car, then how will you get there? Bus? Car pool? What experience do you have? Do you need to get your resume together? Have you posted on jobsites?

Then figure out what hours you need your kids to be in preschool. Most places offer three, two or full days a week. Then go from there.

You can do things from home like Alpine Access while the kids are in school, cannot do this job with kids around.
You can go online and take a course towards a job you want to pursue, doing the school work while the kids are in preschool.

You just need to figure out what you want first, then take the baby steps towards it.

I would say first and foremost if you don't have a car, figure out if you want to work from home, how you will get the kids to and from school and if you work outside the home your plans to get there.

I have been home for eight years, got divorced three years ago, dealing with a house that is falling apart that is costing me way too much money but I cannot sell for what we owe, we are dead broke, dealing with hoping when the lease is up on our mini van they will allow me to finance without the greatest credit (that dived with the divorce) and struggling to get a job in the fall, only after I find out if my son gets accepted to full day Kindergarten or not! I have figured out to do before/after school and part time child care to supplement, but realistically that isn't going to keep us going. So I am there with you sister! I just have to take steps in order of importance and priority, then do it a little at a time!

HUGS! I find if you take a deep breath, realize you can only do so much in a day, it all falls into place!
