A. - My son was diagnosed with this at 2 weeks old. He went to Children's for an Ultrasound and were told he probably didn't have it, too young, but it turned out he did. We were admitted that night to the hospital and he underwent surgery the next morning. The best way to know if you daughter has it is if she is projectile vomiting. If so, she probably does. The biggest concern with pyloric stenosis is dehydration and weight loss, so it is nothing to wait to decide on. The surgery is fairly common and simple. My son's surgery only took about 1/2 hour. The most frightening thing was that he was so young. However, everything was fine and the best part afterwards was no more vomiting every time he ate! He is now a happy, healthy 15 month old little boy! Good luck and let me know what you find out.
