I also follow that book...the author, Dr. Weissbluth, is also our Pediatrician. I agree with trying an earlier bedtime. Also, I believe in the book it says if they wake in the morning extremely early, it's ok to leave them (in my opinion, as long as they are not crying) because by getting up early with them you are just teaching them to wake up earlier and earlier. Our 13 month old started waking between 6:30 and 7 and would just lie there talking to herself. We tried leaving her until 7 to see if she would start waking later in the mornings and now she sleeps until 7 or 7:30. Just some thoughts :)
