We are getting ready to transition our child to a twin bed from a toddler bed. Do you have any advice on buying a mattress for a child with asthma and allergies?

P., i am not aware of any mattresses especially for asthma and allergies. Our allergist advises just the allergy covers for the mattresses and pillows. They are sold at Walmart or other stores of the like for around $25 in my area. It's not a big deal, buy what you like and just zip it up! Goodluck!

Hello,

We have the Starlight Support Supreme by Moonlight Slumber. It's great.

We have a regular mattress that we have covered with a special casing that protects it from dust mites and allergens. The casings are less exspensive than a special mattress and you can Google hypo-allergenic bedding to find the one you like best.

Tempurpedic foam mattress is amazingly comfortable & is the only one I know that resists dust mites. It is kind of expensive but so worth it.
