My 22 month old son has a really bad habit biting, he has been terminated from one day already, and know he has started biting at his new day care, he doenst bite at home, I have no idea as to what to do to stop this bad habit.
Not sure about the biting back part but what I have done...sounds bad, but really it isn't...after they bite, I just give them a pat on the lips...just enough for them to feel it against their teeth. Has worked with my boys. But of course, your main issue is that you can't fix what doesn't happen at home so I don't know what to say there.
My son was a biter when he was two. It seems to have subsided since he turned three. I tell him everytime, "No, that hurts." And I put him on the naughty step for two minutes. I am sorry I don't have any bright ideas for you. Just be consistent, and I believe the problem will be resolved as he gets older and learns other means of communication. Good Luck!
I know it sounds wierd ,but bite him if you ever see him do it. It usually works surprisingly.
My daughter started biting when she had got bit at the church nursery. Then she'd bite the little girl my mil was babysitting. I think their was some jelousy there, but anyway I tryed everything, time out, talking to her no no hurt, ect. I kept being told to bite her just hard enough to get her attention and she'll quit. I wouldn't do it but the again she is biting other people. Well one day she bit her dad and he bit her back and she was heart broken crying like it was the end of the world. She never bit again. I still don't like the idea and I don't know really why that put her to a stop because its not like she had never been biten maybe it was because it was someone important to her and she saw how bad her own feelings were hurt, but girl you know I didn't talk to her dad for a week.
