Hello it's amazing how God works... I was just about to write an email to my friends telling them about my experience this weekend. Then I saw this on mamasource... anyhow about 3 months ago I was diagnosed with a complex cyst on my left ovary, about the size of a quarter. The dr wanted to perform surgery to remove it but I wanted to see an herbalist before I allowed them to cut on me... I'm 32 and was diagnosed with pcos some years ago... Any how I went to see Dr. Lisa Lau located in chinatown she specializes in women's health issues: fibroids, cysts, infertility and many more things. She told me to drink her tea for 2 cycles and 3 cycles to ensure the cyst would pass. I'd been to her before for something else and I knew the tea was good for my past issue. Well, I went back to my dr saturday had a 1 hour ultrasound, (pelvic & abdomen) and could you believe the techs were like WHAT CYST? they pulled records from my previous visit and kept trying to find it... nothing, it was gone! I told them about Dr Lau and they were amazed. They are all planning to go see her. Visits are ONLY $50 and that's including the TEA. Do yourself a huge favor and go see her. she's wonderful and a blessing from God! her # is ###-###-####

Hi S.,

I don't know how far you've pursued western medical treatments, but many insurance companies cover some fertility coverage. Also, until you get officially diagnosed as "infertile" your diagnostic tests may be covered b/c it's diagnostic and not treatment.

And, IL is one of the few states that has some mandatory fertility coverage rules. So, you might want to check w/your insurance company if you haven't already.

I've been through the infertility struggle so I just wanted to let you know what we learned. Of course, different insurance companies are different.

Good luck!

Hi S.-

You may want to try Dr. Ettner out of St. Francis. He practices both conventional and homeopathic plus he takes most insurances. Many holistic doctors don't take insurance because of all of the headaches but they will give you the proper code to bill your insurance. Some practitioners will charge $400-$500 a visit.

You may want to consider a chiropractor/natural clinic may times they do many different modalities and are just as effective.

All in goood Health is a good one and I know that vitalhealth.org is great but she has a 6 month waiting list:)

Try Homefirst. They take many kinds of insurance. There is one doctor who is completely against non-holistic medicine, and a couple who are more balanced. They have offices in the city, Rolling Meadows, Naperville and Orland Park. Go to homefirst.com for more info.

you can also check out Chicago Womans Health center in Lakeview. They work on a sliding scale if you don't have insurance!! You don't see a Dr. at first but their health workers are great and will asses things first then set something up with their Dr. if necessary!

Dr. Jin Park at Bodies in Balance in Northbrook is great. He spends a lot of time talking to you about what your needs are and is very intuitive. I would highly recommend him. http://www.integratemed.com/office.shtml Office: ###-###-####. Good luck!
