Hi! I'm 29 weeks pregnant with my first child and I'm looking for an excellent pediatrician in the Saint Augustine, FL area. I have BC/BS health insurance through my husband and am hoping someone has a suggestion for a pediatrician in the area.
I would like a doctor that has a great bedside manner, doesn't condemn a new mother for asking too many questions and doesn't get upset if a new mother is nervous and frequently seeking advice (not that I will be one of those new mothers :)
Any help in this area is appreciated!

I live in Saint Augustine and did a lot of research before my daughter was born in July 2007. I read many excellent recommendations for Dr Affan with Angel Kids Pediatrics before choosing him for my daughter. I also have BCBS and Dr. Affan is a preferred provider. Dr. Affan's office has separate entrances and waiting areas for sick kids and well kids so your baby won't be exposed to sickness when you go for a well visit. Dr. Affan always calls personally to check on our daughter if she has been ill and is willing to come in on a Saturday or Sunday if necessary to provide treatment (I think they have extended weekday hours also). Most of their staff is extremely friendly as is Dr. Affan himself. He has excellent bedside manner and never makes you feel like he's in a hurry. He will take as much time as necessary to answer all your questions. His office is conveniently located off of Old St. Augustine Rd (Bartram Park area). Angel Kids Pediatrics number is ###-###-####. They also have an office at the beach, so be sure to specify which location you want. All calls go to the Beaches number first and they can transfer you to the Bartram office.

I also highly recommend Ancient City Pediatrics. My son sees Dr. Cline who is very gentle and knowledgeable. The practice has 3 different doctors to chose from.

Hi L.,

I am the mother of one, my daughter is 33 months old. I am happy with our pediatrician. We see Dr. Bhargava wiith Ancient City Pediatrics. He has a great bedside manner with my little one. He lets me ask a million questions and I never feel rushed. The nurses I've had experiences with there are great too.

Ancient City Pediatrics is located off of the 312 Bridge. The # is ###-###-####.

I see Dr.Soberano w/St.Augustine Pediatrics Association. We were seeing Dr.Mary Soha for the first 4 months of my son's life, but switched to him after a number of dissappointments at the other place. He is awesome. I am a first time mom as well and had no idea who to go to. My husband is a hard sell, and he loves the guy. He is VERY thourough, and spends as much time as you need answering any and all questions he has. He is mild mannered and my son just smiles every time we visit. We have been with him for only two months now and he has already fixed a number of issues we had (GERD, problems w/cicumcision, ect). He is off of 210, so I'm not sure how close that is to you. I wish I would have seen him first. He is great. His # is ###-###-####. Good luck.

I also use Ancient City Ped. for my son. Dr. Mas is wonderful and never makes you feel silly for asking too many questions. I have called many times and even stopped by the office, they are great there and very helpful. I would def give them a call and just make an appt. to stop in and talk to the Drs. you'll be amazed at how much that helps.
