L.D.
Hi C.,
I live in New Rochelle, minutes from Pelham, and have a 17 month-old daughter. Her pediatrician since birth has been Dr. Hilary Smith at Pediatric Associates of Southern Westchester in New Rochelle. Dr. Smith and Dr. Heather McGowan are both very nice and the practice is professional and friendly. Most importantly (in my opinion), they are very responsive during those unforeseen moments -- fever of 102 at 3am, etc. Here is their web site: http://www.soundshorepediatrics.com/default.htm
As for ob/gyn, since you are thinking about baby #2, I highly recommend that whomever you pick is affiliated with either White Plains Hospital or Greenwich Hospital. Both of these maternity wards are top notch and have state-of-the-art level 3 NICU's. My Ob/Gyn is Dr. Vanessa Grano with the Westchester Medical Group, based out of Rye (right off exit 19 on I-95). It only takes me about 15 minutes to get there from New Rochelle. Dr. Grano has been phenomenal in so many ways. She is very popular and in high demand but she makes you feel like a real person, not a number. She has an excellent bedside manner. Here is the web site (the office is on Theall Road in Rye): https://www.westchestermed.com/portal/About+Us/default.aspx
The bonus is that she is affiliated with Greenwich Hospital (only about 20 -25 minutes from Pelham) which is where I delivered my daughter. I can't say enough good things about this hospital -- the staff is incredible and the maternity ward feels more like a nice hotel than hospital. They even have a pull-out sofa in each (private) recovery room for your husband. They really know how to take care of you.
Good luck with the move to Pelham. Drop me a note if you are interested in chatting further! -L.
