anyone have a kitchen island or shelve for sale. We just bought our 1st home and to our surprise there are no kitchen drawers for silverware. I am not looking for anything pricey or fancy. Or any ideas on something else to put the silverware in?

I would check out IKEA. You can also check out Target.com as they have some nice pieces of this nature (butcher block type kinda thing). We actually have a butcher block type thing that could be used as an island. It has a cabinet portion and then a drawer portion. It's all wood. And in very good condition. It also has a small side towel bar. It's on wheels but you could lock the wheels. We got it at Target and paid around $200 for it. I would be happy to sell if for half that amount of best offer. Feel free to PM. I could send you a picture if you'd like.
Ha, I was going to say the same! Ikea!!!! Really cute stuff that won't break the bank. It is a little heavy (particle board) and you have to put it together, but it looks great and will last you a while.
Until you find one, see if you can find a carrier for picnic silverware. It usually is cubish (if that is a word) and divided for forks, spoons, knives. You stand the utensils up in it and set it in the middle of the table and often times is made of heavy metal mesh. It works in a pinch and you may decide you like it that way. =) AND it is cheap.
