Ruth,
In addition to those listed by Mom of Two that serve Chicago and/or Cook County, you may want to check out www.illinoislegalaid.org - plug in the mom's zip code and see what other agencies serve her area. This is also a good website for those who have basic legal questions and/or need legal services in other areas as well. LAF (Legal Assistance Foundation) actually has (or used to) a divorce "clinic" which I believe was taught in both English and Spanish and helped people prepare their own documents if LAF couldn't take on the case. Also you can contact CARPLS (Coordinated Advice and Referral Program for Legal Services). CARPLS at ###-###-#### (voice) / ###-###-#### (tty) give basic legal advice and referrals over the phone and does not represent individuals directly. However, it also has a database of all available area legal aid services, so its a great place to call if one is a low-income cook county resident and they just need to know which agencies may serve them. Best of luck!

Good luck-R.
Ruth...
You may want to try some of the following:
Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago: ###-###-####
Chicago Legal Clinic: ###-###-####
Legal Aid Bureau: ###-###-####
LifeSpan: ###-###-####
I believe they speak spanish at all of these locations; however, you may have to leave a couple of vm before getting a phone call. Most of these offer their services for free or for a minum fee depending on income. Good luck to your friend.
