I was induced 10 days before my son's birth date. I carried him really low and my back couldn't take it anymore. I couln't walk or anything. My sister has had two and she didn't carry her second so long. Congratulations and Good luck!!!
I am pregnant with my second child and keep hearing people say that they carried over 40 weeks with their second!!! I was just wondering what week everyone else delivered at with their second!

I was one day past my due date. I had my first baby 2 weeks early, so I was panicing. I had the doc strip my membrane the week that I was due. Most people told me that labor usually started with in 24hrs of doing this, but not with me, it was 3 days later.
Good Luck.
I went into labor a week and a day early with both of my pregnancies. It is up to your body! The baby knows when to come :)...Isn't it nice that they have a mind of their own already, LOL!!!
I delivered my second at 34 weeks. Amazingly enough, he weighed in at a whoppin' 6 lbs. 1 oz. He was the biggest preemie in the NICU. So, I guess I'm glad I didn't go to term. My second born just turned 2 yo and is completely healthy.
Many blessings to you and your growing family,
L.
Hi Cindy,
My first child was born a day before my due date and he was 10 lbs. 3 oz. I was in labor for about 6 hrs. My second child was 9lbs and 10oz. I was induced because if they would have let me go to full term she would have been huge! Most doctors only let you go 1 week after your due date. :) Congrats and good luck!

I have 4 kids and they all came when ready. My first was 42 weeks, second at 38, 2 on their due dates. Just goes to show that you can not predict. They will come when they are good and ready. The doctors told me that heredity does play some part in it so ask your family. In the mean time enjoy.
I have two daughters the first one was three weeks early and weighed almost 9 lbs. The second one was more than three weeks early and weighed even closer to 9 lbs. It's very hard to predict!
Hi Cindy,
I was told that you don't get that big with your first one and I was bigger with my first then my second baby. I had my first 2 weeks late and my second one 1 month early. I was also told that after your second one you have labor pains way after the birth I didn't have them either. I think that baby will come when he/she is ready even if it is 2 weeks early, 2 weeks late, when he/she is ready to see the world it will come.
Good Luck
Take care
God Bless

1st child - 40 weeks, induced on due date
2nd child - 37 weeks
3rd child - 37 weeks
Hey girl
I delivered my second at 37 1/2 weeks. I heard the second comes fast and flying out I never heard about it going over though!!
Good luck!

Please oh please DO NOT listen to all of the stories! All its going to do is stress you out and its NOT worth it. I, too, got to hear all the stories in regards to a second pregnancy...from the labor is longer and more intense with the second one, to delivering a larger baby the second time around, etc. From THIS mom's experience...I was in labor for exactly 1 hour 23 minutes with my second child (who was also born breech, by the way)and she weighed 5 lbs. 13 oz. So...all of the horror stories DID NOT happen. Had she not been breech, she would have came even faster...
So...listen to your doctor...and I wish you well.
I'm not gonna be much help on this, because i have had two c-sections and am going to have a third. However i have heard that it goes acourding to your first most of the time. There are alot of myths out there but i feel that the truth is the baby is ready when they are ready. I hope this helps and good luck.
I had my son at 39 weeks and everything was much easier. My daughter who was first was three days "late". But my sister who is now having her second is almost a week overdue now. Everybody's body varies greatly.
Both of my children came right on their due dates (my oldest at 1:16 a.m. and my second at 3:34 a.m.), but I have been told that is very rare.
I was 10 days early with my second child, but I was 10 days late with my first.
our childbirth class said that 1st pregnancy are usually the smallest as for size, seceding babies are usually bigger. and after the 1st, babies tend to come quicker as your body has the "hang of it now."
Remember everyone is different though.
My first was 1 day late. and 8 lbs 14 oz. My second was 1 week early and 9 lbs 5 oz.
hello there congrats to u on ur 2nd child and i just want to say i have had 3 kids and they have all come on diffrent days but i carried full term not to worry we are all diffrent this one may surprise u, and it will be an easier delivery as well with the 2nd kid. good luck
my first came 10 days early(6lbs) and was less than 8 hours from onset of labor to delivery..very easy
my second came at 28 weeks..2hrs contactions then emergency c section.(after water breaking at 26 weeks)
my sister, her first was wayyyyy long.. second long but not as long but just as tough... both were over.
when my mom had me and my sister.. my sister(oldest)came fast(not sure about if on time). and i didn't want to come out.
my sister was big(8lbs) and i was barely 6lbs.
i agree, don't ya just love all the stories you hear..lol
Not I!!! My water broke at 31 weeks. No reason was ever found. I delivered my baby boy at 33 1/2 weeks. He was on a respirator twice put kept pulling it out. Lots of tubes too. He was a whopping 6 lb 3 oz though. HUGE!!! My first was 9 lb 6 oz and born on his due date. My midwife thought he (our second) would've been over ten pounds. But everything turned out great! He was only in the NICU for two weeks and then he came home! He just turned three on the 18th...that is very hard to believe. He was just ready to see his mommy a little early! I truly believe they come when they want to come.
My oldest son: I was in labor for 5 hours and pushed for twenty minutes.
Our youngest: I was in labor (well besides the water breaking and being in the hospital) for 3 hours and pushed for twenty minutes. So it is better (for the nearly all people on most part - in all accounts) with the second, third, etc pregnancies. :) Good luck to you and your family!

I was 5 days early with my first and about 15 days early (based on due dates) with my second - both times my water broke.
Well with my 2nd child my dr induced me at 2 days over due so I have no clue how long it would have been. She was just inducing cuz she thought she was getting too big. I had a hard delivery with my 1st (he was 4 days over due) due to his size of 8 lbs 13.5 oz. My 2nd was 8 lbs 13.2 oz but the dr. thought she was over 9 lbs due to the ultrasound. so I honestly have no clue how over due I would have went.
my mom use to be an OBGY nurse, she now does home health. She says that the second baby is always easier. I have had 3 now, and my last two were cake. They both came at 38 weeks. Your doctor will know how long to let you go, if you dont have your baby by your due date. From what I understand, most doctors do not let a mother go past their due dates but a day or two, unless the mom does not want to be induced. So ignore the others and just listen to what your doctor advice is. There is always a chance that you will go early anyways. Congratulations!
Hi Cindy!
LOL! Isn't is wonderful all the "helpful" advise and stories you hear when you're pregnant? LOL! Everyone is different and every pregnancy is too. Take me, for instance...first child: 27.5 hours labor, delivered right on time. Second child: 45 minutes back labor, delivered right on time. Third child: 20 minutes labor, delivered three weeks early. Fourth child: 10 minutes labor, delivered two weeks early. All were healthy babies with no complications. Then there's my daughter whose labor went longer with each child. Just the opposite of me! So you just never know. Your doctor will keep an eye on you and I'm sure that if he thinks you're body is waiting too long to go into labor, he'll induce you. Don't worry too much about it, you're almost at the finish line and will holding your new little one anytime now. What a glorious day that will be!!! Congrats and God bless you!!!!
Just Me!
