Hello Moms, I am searching for a double jogger stroller and would like some feed back from those Moms & Dads that have or have had one already. Our girls are 14 months old and weigh 23 and 20 lbs. We live out in the country on a dirt road and will be using this stroller daily. I would like to make sure our little girls have a canopy that offers adequate shade as to they do not like to wear hats. Thanks in advance for all who take the time to help us make our decision.

Hi,
You might want to consider the City Mini Double by Baby Jogger. It is actually not a jogging stroller but I use it on trails without a problem. I think it it easier to manuver than the jogging strollers. I agree about the swivel front wheel. Anyway the City Mini is also very lightweight, so easy to fold, fits everywhere. And it has a great canopy. If you are going to be on trails and dirt roads primarily a jogging stroller would be a better bet, but if you want an all-around stroller that can handle the dirt road and also go shopping look into City Mini. My twins and I love it.

KT,

We recently purchased a used jogging stroller made by Kool Stride. We use it for our 2 22 month olds, and recently took it on a camping trip for week, so we definitely took it on some rough terrain. Though it doesn't have a swivel front wheel (though I'm sure new models do) we loved it. The large tires let you glide over rough terrain, and the boys were really comfortable. Since they're reclined just a bit, they were less inclined to grab each other and squabble. Also, it has a canopy, lots of storage, and a peek through window so that we can see them while we push the stroller.

Hi K T

Check out the baby jogger brand. They are a more expensive brand, but are very much worth it. I have a City Elite and LOVE IT. I have gone through 5 strollers prior to this and finally decided that I needed to spend money and get a quality stroller and this is it! The city series isn't a jogger, so if you plan on jogging don't get the city series, but for most other terrain the city series is great, other than soft sand. It fits through a standard door, ie my front door, so going into stores and malls isn't an issue. It is VERY HEAVY though, the quality is sooo worth it. I also internet searched until I found one of the year before model on clearance and saved about $250.00 - the cost of 2 of my other strollers combined!

I LOVE my BOB! I only have the single, but I also live on a country road & I used it daily. A front swivel wheel is essential for dirt roads. Now that I have two kids I am using the thing my husband bought tow to behind the bike. It does NOT have a front swivel wheel & is a pain to manuvuer. Needless to say, I don't go on walks very much anymore. I would love to get a double BOB, but they are very expensive & I have yet to convince my husband it's worth it. He thinks the bike thing is "perfectly functional".
Good luck with your search.

I've had several of these over the years and I'll give you a tip. You definitely want one that has a front wheel that swivels. When you have two kids in there (or even one for that matter) and all of the other stuff us moms lug around with us, it gets pretty heavy. Without a swivel front, you'll constantly be fighting it to get it to turn. It gets very tiring and can be stressful if you're in a tight spot. You may also want to get a light weight model, but I would definitely spend a little extra to get one with the swivel front, especially if you are going to use it everyday. Believe me, you'll be glad you did. Good luck with your search!

Hi, KT~
Check out the bumbleride indie twin! It's great, light, the front wheels swivel, and the canopy unzips so you can block the sun in any direction. www.bumbleride.com. My company retails them...if you find one you like online, let me know, and I can get you a discount and free shipping. Happy walking!!!

Best,
T.
