Has anyone experienced feeling like you are on a cruise ship "THE DAY AFTER" you get home? I feel like the movement from the waves are in my house. I just got home from taking a cruise yesterday and today I woke up and feel like I am still on a boat .....I am home on solid ground. I have never heard of someone feeling this way AFTER they were on a cruise ship.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I took one more tablet for being sea sick and that is all it took. After reading all the messages from my friends of MamaSource and taking one more tablet I am feeling better. Thank you to everyone who took the time to write me a message with helpful information!

I would go see your dr if the feeling does not subside after a couple of days. I had the same symptoms after returning from a long flight, went to the dr and was diagnosed with vertigo. I took some meds and it went away within a couple of weeks.

Yes R. I felt this way after both of my cruises. We call it sea legs, not the technical name for it but we made it up. It will go away soon. BTW: Where did you go on your cruise? How'd you like it? Email me if you want ____@____.com LOOOVVEE cruising!

Hi R.,

I know several folks who have experienced the very same symptoms you are describing and they all wore a patch during the cruise to prevent seasickness. My girlfriend continued to take Dramamine or something similar for a couple of days after she first got home then it was gone. Hope it goes away quickly for you but if it doesn't or gets worse I'm sure your doctor can fix you right up.

We just got back from our cruise this morning as well and I have yet to not feel the swaying - this is our second cruise and the same thing has happened - my doctor said it was the equilirium. I spent a week on a smaller houseboat in Lake O the Pines a couple of years ago and ended up having vertigo. If it doesn't go a way in a couple of day sto to the docotr -but it should and you will get your normal sense of balance back. We drove back from Houston and I swore my car was being hit by waves ... :)

Yes, this may happen for several days after you get home. It is a weird feeling, but it will go away. I never had to wear the patch because I don't get "sea sick". But I hear that if you wear the patch while on the boat, you should keep it on for several days after you get home.

When we went on our cruise, I was sea sick the whole time...even when we went on an excursion and went snorkeling, on the boat we were on, I was totally sea sick. I felt the same way for almost a week after we got home. I think it is normal for those of us who get sea sick easily to also feel that way once we are on land. Next time we take a cruise I am going to get the patch from my Dr. before I go. Hope you feel better soon!
