Cranial sacral therapy or polarity therapy could be of great help. Both are totally non-invasive, gentle, and effective!
I went on my first cruise to Mexico and had a blast!! I have been home for 5 days now and I am still feeling the ocean. I have been fishing and spent weekends on boat trips before and have only felt the motion for maybe a day or two. This seems more severe. I rock back and forth, my head feels likes it is whirling, my ears won't quit popping (I have to keep popping them @ every 10-20 sec),I get a headache each day, I am extremly tired (although I did take a one year old with me, that could cause anyones exhaustion). I am having a hard time focusing my eyes, it almost feels like I have taken 2 daytime cold medicines (the ones that give you that floating head feeling) and I am constantly in a haze. I did catch a cold while onboard, maybe that was the cause. I have tried Dramamine, no luck. I also take Ibuprofen for the headaches I get during the day. Has anyone felt like this after a cruise? Any suggestions before I try the doctor?

A friend of mine had the same experience after a cruise and nothing really helped until she went to the doctor.
This happened to me too! We went on a cruise for our honeymoon and it took me a good two weeks to get my "land legs" back. It did eventually go away which was good. We have since gone on another cruise and it only took me about 5 days to get over it the second time. I told my husband we should hurry and go on another one so I can cut the recovery time in half again, LOL!! I didn't do anything but take Ibprofen and wait it out.
I hope it won't last too long for you! Good luck.

You really need to go see a doctor and get proper medical attention and evaluation. It is very wrong of you to ask people without any medical background to give you advice on medical issues.... If they give you the wrong advice, it can only harm your health and prolonging medical attention for a serious matter can only cause you more harm than good... Please make an appt with your doctor and get evaluated soon...
Good luck

Same thing happened to me on my cruise to Mexico and I ended up with a severe case of vertigo (inner ear infection) which throws your balance, eyesight totally off.
See a naturopathic doc for suggestions on some natural aids to take. I've gone to Dr. Weeshoff - ###-###-####. Good luck!
My husband had this same thing occur and he needed to go to the doctor. I cannot for the life of me recall what they said he had- but he did need medication. Good luck!
you might have a sinus infection or an ear infection or caught a bug. may be you need to see the doc.

My first cruise on a smaller ship resulted in symptoms like this for me - minus the ear popping. It passed after a few days, but it's possible (I'm thinking of the ear popping thing) that you have an inner ear problem that was intensified by the cruise. My uncle had that issue and it caused him a lot of trouble for a while, but there is medication from your doc that will help. Best of luck!
I went threw a simmilar thing although mine lasted for 6 weeks. I thought I would die!!!!!! I had a nurse friend come over and flush my ears with 1/2 peroxide and 1/2 warm water. I had wax buildup come out and the next day the dizziness was gone. I hope this helps:) Good luck

So you are feeling abit dizzy? When I went on my first cruise the same thing happened to me. When I got back I went to work and kept falling over when I was standing. I thought "OMG I did it to myself this time. I stressed myself out so much. Now I have brain tumor" When I got home I told my mom and my sister (who were also on the cruise)that I wasn't feeling too well. They told me that they both stayed in bed all day and rested because they felt the same way. What a relief to hear that! What I discovered is that for what ever reason, women are more prone to sealegs then men. ( my Dad and brother were not effected) My sealegs lasted about a week. I slept it off.
But I didn't have kids to care for at that time either. Rest solved my dizziness.
It can take a little while to get your land legs back. However, you may have a slight infection going on in your inner ear that's disrupting your equilibrium a little. If you had full-blown vertigo you'd be on your back. Go to the doc.
My sister had this after a week on a houseboat at Lake Powell. It is called disembarkment syndrome. I think she went to a specialist who gave her what amounted to phyisical therapy. I would just go ahead and call a doctor about it. The most frustrating thing for my sis was people thinking she was crazy (mainly her husband, but that is another story..). She is cured now, although not anxious to get on another boat any time soon. I think it just kept getting worse until she was so dizzy and naseaus that she couldn't function well.
Good luck!
It's possible you could have an ear infection. Sometimes people get them from traveling (especially on airplanes.) It could explain the popping and the dizziness. Also the headaches. It's highly likely that maybe some water from all of the ocean and pool fun got in your ears and caused a bit of an infection. I'd go to the doctor and see if they can rule that out!! Good luck.
Hi Candice,
It sounds like an inner ear infection. Try OTC mecalazine (SP?) meck-la-zene.
Good luck,

you may have an inner or middle ear infection - the best natural thing you can use for inflammation is called Una de Gato - it is also anti-bacterial and anti-viral so it can help clear up infections - if you need more info feel free to contact me
You know, we just got home from a cruise too and I was still feeling dizzy yesterday and it's been a little over a week!! When I read your post, I realized today is the first day I didn't feel it!! I think it's pretty normal, although for me around day 7, I was starting to freak out. Good luck and let us know if you find something that helps!!
