Question is simple- I have a 2 year old who loves his DVDs and loves to "do things all by himself"! Most of the DVDs have small minor scratches and some are now causing them to skip.

Toothpaste? Something u can buy?? What can I do to fix the scratches?

What can I do next?

We take ours to the video store here in town. They will repair them for $1.50 each.

We bought this stuff that clears up the scratches pretty well. Can't think of what it's called off the top of my head but we got it Big Lots here in Texas (discount store). It works great. Sorry can't think of the name but I wanted to tell you that yes, they do make stuff to fix the scratches.

I've used Pledge. It works well enough to prevent the stuck images but if you do wipe it off well enough--not roughly since then there is no point to putting it on in the first place, it skips almost the whole movie.

I don't know... but I have a 12 yr old son who googled what to do and tried several things on a movie he has that was awful (scratched like you wouldn't believe)... the one I walked in on him trying was coating it with whipped cream. yep, can of reddi-whip... all over a DVD. LOL

It helped alot, but he did several other things to it too, so I don't know which "thing" it was that helped. Have you tried googling it?
