When I was a kid I remember doing the ol' celery stalk in colored water experiment, but the other day, I saw a new and improved version! They took a white rose and made two slits up the stem of it, so it was divided in quarters and put each quarter stem in a different glass of colored water (one blue, one red, etc.). The color was drawn up into the rose just like the celery stalk, but the result was a rainbow colored rose! Kinda looked tie dyed! It was very cool!
