My son will be attend Montessori school of Covington. I visited about 6 schools when trying to choose a school for my son. I love Montessori School of Covington. I think it will be great for my son.
My daughter just completed preschool at George Walton Academy in Monroe and will be attending kindergarten there next year. I was very pleased at what the school had to offer....spanish, music, computer, bible, art projects in class, field trips, musicals, etc. My child has learned so much this year; she had great teachers! I just wish the school were closer, as it is 30 minutes away. My daughter will be riding the bus next year, which picks up and drops off in downtown Covington.
First Baptist Children's Ministry Center (in downtown Covington) has a pretty good pre-k and kindergarten program, which is a half-day program. I have heard positive reviews. My son attends the toddler class there and loves it! My daughter attended toddler classes there for two years and loved them as well. We tried out the Montessori School when my daughter was three and had a great year; she enjoyed her teachers, classmates, hands-on learning experiences and diverse learning opportunities offered there. It's a good school but felt my child needed more structure in a traditional classroom.
Good luck with your search for a good private school; you are wise to choose private over public for many, many good reasons. It's worth the money!!
