Hello Ladies,
I was wondering if any of you have used Georgia Cyber school or Dublin City virtual schools ? I know both schools follow the states required studies and are really just like going to a school in the state of Georgia. I'm really just looking for information on folks who have used these programs, thanks....
I wanted to know the following if you would share your experience;
did you like the the fexibility ?
did you feel when you had questions for the teacher on a subject for your child you got enough support and assistance ?
Thanks so much for sharing. We did start GCA we are very happy. It can be fast paced at times. I have a child that is ill and has needed to see the doctor often not to mention when he needs care at home, so this program has worked for us very well. It can at times with more then one child feel very demanding ,as if you have no time for yourself. I find I have to make time for myself. My children have started to be people I now really know on a different level. This experience has been very rewarding in many ways for all of us. Different things work for everyone, I guess you have to find what works and go from there.

see if either of those schools have a yahoo group. i homeschooled here in california thru california virtual academy (CAVA) and they had a yahoo group for the parents. join, and ask your questions, and go from there!
I would contact your local homeschoolers group and ask them. They can often point you to someone who uses the exact curriculum and you would have someone to go to later on.
Hi! We currently use Georgia Cyber Academy (K12) for 4th and 5th grades. I've home schooled in the past using other curriculum but started using GCA last year. I've been very happy since we started. There are many reason I have been happy with this program but one in particular are the on-line classes. My kids get the benefit of being schooled at home but also have their classroom environment opened to them through these other classes w/ other kids and teachers. All classes are recorded so if you could not make it during the time it was live, no problem, you can come back and listen to the recorded link in your own time...and since everything is recorded, you get the added benefit of hearing what is being taught to your child(ren) and 'how' it is being taught. You can go on outings and meet some of the students/parents/teachers that you've seen on-line. There has been plenty of support. Each student/parent (learning coach is what they call the parent/s) is assigned a specific teacher to take most of your questions. I have found these teachers to be very helpful and upbeat. They seem to go out of their way to be helpful. There are too many reasons to list why I love GCA here. I'd recommend going to the k12 site and check it out. I'm also using GCA for my 3rd grader. We started in the middle of fall last year.
Yes, I love schooling on home. Our flexibility does have parameters, just be aware. We have start and end dates. Required to turn in writing samples at certain times. Have to take the CRCT.
