Hi,

I was just wondering if any of you have a scented oil fragrance - one of those plug in things, that you like. I have an Air Wick unit and I may like a fragrance when I'm at the store, but once I plug it in, the scent is so, so strong that it gives me a headache. the smell is just overpowering and so before I go and spend more money on buying more units that I am not going to like, I thought I'd get your opinions on what brands have worked for you!

Thanks in advance,
Aarti.

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone. I think I have been convinced to make the switch to reed diffusers and soy candles/natural fragrances. Thank you again.

Hi,
I too wanted my house to smell nice and could never find anything that I liked after I bought it, so that is why I started making my own soy wax candles 3 and a half years ago. It is so fun and is not hard or messy at all. I can change a fragrance any time I want and that is how I also mix and match things to find something original. Visit my web site at SoyCandlesNCrafts.com or email me at
____@____.com and ask more how you too can make your own and have fun doing it. Good luck on whatever you choose.

I felt the same way,I want my home to smell good, but I could never find anything I like, and most of the stuff was to strong for me,too.
I bought this soy candle from Target, clean burn and it smelled so nice and natural, I decided I make my own soy candles.Soooooooooo easy to do.I went on the Internet and studied how to make soy candles and bought some supply, like all the fragrance oils, wicks, and the wax. This one company Candlesience, also sells fragrance oils and those reed things, you can put in a container, they are not to strong at all.
It's a nice quick hobby for right now,I have 20 different oils and always can decide today I feel like this smell...
Check out Candlesience,it's really fun.

Wow, all the candlemakers here! (I'm one too, believe it or not) If you want something that you can just leave all the time, I'd recommend a reed diffuser. They lightly scent your room without being overpowering and last a long time (mine lasted 6 months). There's also always potpourri which you can renew when the scent dissipates with refresher oil.

Hope that helps!

Plug ins have over powering chemically made fragrances that really aren't good for you - as you just found out. I use essential oils with a diffuser and sometimes burn soy candles as well. But, you must use a good soy candle as cheap candles (not soy) can be caustic! Did you ever notice the black ring around the top of the glass jar? That's what's in the air and in your lungs!

Don't waste your money on those things that only harm you. I know that what we breathe, eat and put on our bodies has a profound effect on our health. If you would like more information, please email me! Good luck and be healthy!
