i was numb for the longest time, it finally went away recently. I think depending on the labor experience and the trauma to "that area" its pretty normal.
My entire left side of my vagina is numb after the birth of my daughter. Is there anything I can do to get the feeling back?
I had her on 1 Jan 2010. No I havent talked to my doctor just yet but I think I will make an apt for next week.

Unless you tore all the way up into the left side of your vagina, I don't know that it would be scar tissue... Maybe nerve damage from an episiotomy? Did you have an epidural? Sometimes it causes continuous numbness for a while.
Congratulations on the baby. How old is she? I only ask because I tore very badly with the birth of my first daughter and had numbness but also pain from the stitch area and it took months for that to get better. You may have had nerve damage or something. I'd talk to your doctor.
I had the same thing--it went away after a year (!) and there wasn't anything I could do. I tore badly also during labor, to where I could barely get in and out of a car for a week without crying. It sometimes still feels strangely sensitive...Definitely mention it to your doctor!
did they do an EPISIOTOMY? i had one but i did not get numb!!!!!!! have u ask the doctor about it? and congrad on ur ur new BABY!!!!!
I have been using st. john's wort oil on my scar from the c-section birth and my numbness has almost totally gone away.
I would suggest kegel exercises. They strengthen the muscles in that area and would probably help improve blood flow, etc, which might help with healing scaring. The best way I can describe doing them is tightening like you're trying keep from peeing - thats a start anyway. Once you start getting used to knowing those muscles, you can do pulses of contract and relax, as well as small contracting building up to bigger. Try googling Kegel exercises or pelvic floor muscles - you can probably find better instructions than I can give.
