M., I think you are looking for recipes of Kapusta & Kielbasa. Coming from a Polish family, it is a staple @ all our holiday feasts!
There are many different ways of preparing Kapusta, and in today's "everyone can be a chef!" world, the internet is full of variations. (some of which don't look very authentic at all!)
I'm attaching a link to a recipe which is pretty darn close to what my family prepares. If you want to make this in a large stockpot with the kielbasa (you can use fresh or smoked), you might want to triple or quadruple the recipe, as I recall we use 4 32oz cans in an 8qt stockpot.
The more you rinse the sauerkraut, the milder the dish will become. If you prefer that, what we actually do is boil the sauerkraut in water, drain, refill with water & boil again, about 3-4 times.
Also, one thing missing from this recipe is MUSHROOMS!! Feel free to add liberally. :)

Not sure if you already have the kielbasa or need to get some. Found a Polish deli in your area:

Hope this helps, & good luck preparing tasty food!! T.
