Once Upon a Child. My daughter works at the store in Grapevine, but she says there is one in Plano and Mckinney.
I am wanting to sale my children's gently used clothing but I am not sure where I should go or what I shold do to get the best money for the clothing. I have 2T and 3T outfits from Gymboree (girls and boys) and some jeans and skirts from Gap.

How far are you from Brenham/Houston area? PM me bc I need 3T for my little girl!
There many yahoo groups for lovers of Gymboree and gap clothes. I belong to gymbohaven and we buy and selll most of our clothes to each other and avoid all of the costs related to ebay. The people involved know how much things are worth so it makes it easier to sell stuff.
Check out babyconsign.com. They have a fabulous consignment sale twice yearly. They are preparing now for their fall sale in Oct. Best of luck!
jbfsale.com for the Just Between Friends sale. They are all over the metroplex, and I'm currently preparing for the FW sale as I type (it takes place the week of Labor Day). And it's not too late to register for the FW sale, I just registered this week!
I would say ebay it. You'll get the most for them through an auction or Buy It Now--if priced right.
If you're in the Fort Worth area and can't do the Just Between Friends sale, try The Mudpuppy. It's a children's consignment store and they usually have better stuff. They're on South Hulen St.
I have sold to Once Upon A Child before but they will not give you very much and are VERY picky. No drawstrings pants past infant, nothing more than 2 yrs old (which all tags now have the date on them), only from certain stores / brands (they will not take anything like Kite Strings because it is too expensive). It is frustrating selling to them but sometimes it is easier to get a little cash for what you can then donate the rest.
I did sell a few things on Craigslist last fall, I sold about 10 pairs of pants (sweats, jeans, elastic waists) for $15 to one person looking for play clothes. But I find CL is a pain sometimes and you get many more scam emails that real people wanting to buy.
There are several options:
1) Ebay (as mentioned by many)
If you don't want to mess with shipping you could also do-
2) Craig's List
3) A consignment sale like just between friends where you set the price and make 70% of what you sell.
www.jbfsale.com
If you decide to Craig's List your items, you can put a key word in it so people can see all your stuff. (On mine, I wrote "search mutigermom to see all my items" and then people can see everything you have.)
If you do Craig's List, pm me with your "key word". I may be interested in your girl's 2T stuff.
Just Between Friends is organizing for their fall sale soon. Look online and see how easy it is. Plus you will love shopping for them at those prices! Over 1700 venders and it is at the Will Rogers Collisium in FW.
Ebay all the way. I have purchase several Gymboree and Gap clothing from Ebay. At first it is a little imposing to get started but once you figure it out you start looking for all that you can sell!
Happy selling!
I've sold my son's clothes to Kid to Kid (there are several locations, the one I've gone to is in Plano at Midway and Parker Road). Just be sure there are no stains and the clothes are clean - sometimes they can get snippy or make you feel embarrassed if not. I made the mistake of not cleaning off a baby seat well enough (my bad, I missed a spot!) and the lady there got kinda rude about it telling me it had a stain and they do NOT take items in that condition. That's the only thing about that particular resale shop. That's theh only one I've been to, though. Also, don't forget they also take gently used books, toys and shoes, too. :-)
If your girl clothes are Gymboree and in pretty good condition, I would go with ebay for sure. Younger girls sized Gymboree clothes do pretty well even with the listing and selling costs factored in. Just do your research and take good photos. The prices go higher if you can take photos of sets of clothes rather than items that are a hodge podge. I have sold girls clothes several times on there and did pretty well.
As for the boys clothes from Gap, you can also try ebay, but they will bring in a lower price and may or may not be worth your time. The other option is Craigslist. Research what a fair price is and take good photos. What is nice about Craigslist is that there is not cost to you to list or sell the item. I have tried a consignment shop and decided against it because I could get more selling the items myself. Hope this helps.
I haven't sold clothes, but Kid to Kid consignment was more than fair with some of the equipment I sold to them. I would google consignment shops in your area. Kid to Kid is the only one I go to and they take almost anything, but I have family in Maryland where the consignment shops will only take name brands like Gap and Gymboree. I would see if there is a shop like that here and see what they will offer you.
Wait for your local Just Between Friends sale, I'm pretty sure the one in Denton is in October. www.jbfsale.com it's too late to register for the Ft. Worth one but it's on Labor Day weekend and the weekend after if you're interested in checking it out. People do make money at it, you have to take time to wash, hang and tag your items and you make 65% on your prices if you just consign 70% if you volunteer and consign. Last spring was the first time I consigned and didn't do a ton of stuff but I made well over $100. They only take fall/winter items this time of year and then spring/summer at the spring sales. You will make money at other consignment stores but you may not make as much as you'd like and they can be picky, I've had friends complain about a certain store only taking items that are about a year old, which is kind of hard to avoid when you have kids that are a couple years apart and have saved items from the first time around.
