Does anyone know anything about the Eagle Mountain/Saginaw ISD? We are thinking of moving and the house is in that ISD. How is it compared to Keller ISD? And, is kindergarten full day or half day?

Thanks for your help in advance.

We are in EMS ISD this year. We just moved to Saginaw and my daughter has some speech issues and goes to the Developmental center and we love it. They are awsome there and she has made such progress. The teachers and principal are wonderful. My hubby and I actually both went to this dist. too as kids and graduated from Boswell and I think its a great school dist. I dont really know how it compares to Keller but its nice. How old are you kids? I have a 5yr old little girl. Maybe we will be neighbors...never know! Take care...C.

We moved to EMS ISD when our oldest was in first grade. At the time, Birdville had wanted to retain her in Kindergarten. We sent her on to first grade and she made straight A's from then on. She is now a teacher in Denton! Our son also went to EMS ISD and did very well. I love this school district. Kindergarten is only half day--or was when my son was in. That's been a while and I know we have grown so much, but I still think it is a very good district. I have a friend who teaches in EMS and her husband teaches in Keller. I will try to get her to respond to this. I'm sure she has a better perspective of what you need. :-)

My Son Will be one of the first graduating seniors coming out of saginaw high school. My nephew is 3rd grader at High country elem; Saginaw High school is a new school the doors opened recenlty and I am well pleased with the faculty. I can't say the same for Boswell High or the Elem school there But from what I hear EISD will be adding a new High school due to the growth out here. I can't say that it is a better district than Keller ISD but I'm enjoying the peace and friendly neighborhood that is developing.I hope this helps

In my opinion, it's hard to judge an entire school district. I was a teacher in Keller for 8 years, and honestly, I could only really tell you my feelings on that one school. My son now goes to Northwest, and again, I only really have impressions on that one teacher really (he's only in kindergarten). In every district and in every school, there are going to be some good apples as well as some bad apples. I'm sure EMSISD is every bit as good as all the districts around the area. If your unsure, visit the school and the possible teacher your son would have. It's a much truer picture on the school than the TAKS statistics. After having been a teacher, I know how misleading those scores can be. Good luck with your move!

I worked as a teacher at EMSISD for 4 years before leaving to stay home with my children. I loved working there and the staff is wonderful. I am sure with any district you have good and bad schools. We live in the Keller ISD and I am planning on sending my children to school in Keller. I think if really depends on what area you live in. Saginaw has grown so fast it is hard to keep up with the growth. I had maxed out classes and it was difficult, but they tried to everything they could to help us out. Knowing the ratings on both districts if you are in Keller ISD why move??

My sister teaches in the school district and I do know it does depend on the actual school your children would be going to. Kindergarten is all day. My sister is actually looking to change districts next year. NO it is not as good as the Keller ISD.........

Hi. I'm a Realtor and my advice is...if you have an opportunity to get in the Keller schools system, please do it. It's much better and much more highly rated than Eagle Mt.-Saginaw. Besides being better for your kids, it's also better for resale of your home.

I am a teacher in HEB ISD and i am pretty sure that keller is the only school district left that is half day....? however heb, keller, and birdville are supposedly the top rated schools in the area as i know... however i haven't heard anything bad about those schools, i have 4 girlfriends that live out there and haven't heard anything negative, i would check with the schools and scope out the best ones :) FYI ask to hear what their percentages on their TAKS scores are :)

Hi, I live in Saginaw and have three grandchildren in the schools here. I don't know how these schools compare with Keller, but I think they are great. Kindergarten goes all day. This area has been growing so rapidly that we have several new schools and at least three are being built to open in the near future. ...Hope this helps.
Best wishes,
N. B

I am a teacher. We lived in that district for 20 years and sent our children to private school to avoid the Eagle Mt./Saginaw district. The area has grown so fast in recent years, the schools do not seem able to keep up with the growth. It is hard to establish a quality school overnight especially in a "country" area.

Good afternon Tam! My name is S. Wells and I am a real estate agent that works literally in both Keller and Eagle Mountain/Saginaw so I had to respond!

As an agent we are not allowed to tell our clients anything in particular about school ratings. However, if you go to the Texas Education Association website... you can pull up a list of all the ratings.

That website is www.tea.state.tx.us

I actually have listings in both of those areas... so if you are not currently working with another agent and I can help you with your real estate needs... (buying/selling) please let me know! I would be delighted to have the opportunity to earn your business!

My website is www.ShariWells.com

You can go there and look around to find listings that might fit your family's needs or you can contact me directly and I will be happy to assist you in your search.

Blessings to you,
S. Wells

EM-S ISD is a growing district. In the last 10 years, it has gone from having one high school, one middle school, and five elementaries to now having two high schools, four middle schools, and ten elementaries with 3 new elementaries opening next year. The growth rate in the district is unbelievable. The administration has worked hard to unite the principals and teachers and develop initiatives to produce uniformity throughout all of the schools. Have you been to the EM-S ISD website to see the ratings of the different schools? http://www.emsisd.com/98210424102156940/site/default.asp This address will show you the state ratings of each of the campuses. What school would your kids be attending in the district? I know something about a few but not all of the specific campuses. Kindergarten at every school is full day. Kindergarten Roundup is on May 20 at all of the elementary campuses. If you are considering moving to the district, I would go to the school that your child would attend and ask to meet the principal and tour the school. There is nothing wrong with that. Just be sure to check in at the office. You will need your driver's license to get in. The website is probably the best place to start. There is a lot of information there. I hope that this helps.
