Road Trip from Kansas City to San Antonio in March

We just went down there this past July. They would probably live sea world. It as rides and the shows. We drove down to corpus christy and spent a day at the ocean and they really enjoyed that too. I wish we had gone to Barton springs in Austin but didnt know about it until we got home. And there is a glass bottom boat ride you can do in austin. We tried to go up in the tower of the America's but waited until the last night we were there and got there too late, and the girls were very disappointed.

Turner Falls, Oklahoma. Six Flags in Arlington, TX. Sea World, San Antonio. Fiesta Texas, San Antonio. Tour the Dallas Cowboy Stadium. Visit Ranger Stadium and the Hall of Fame. Hurricane Harbor in Arlington, TX (if it is warm enough). Aquarena Center in San Marcos. Wonder World in San Marcos (if you like 80's-ish, Griswold family vacation style places). Tanger outlets. Tubing on the Guadalupe River.

In Austin, the botanical gardens is in Zilker park, and there is also a very cold spring fed pool there... Barton Springs pool

In Dallas there is a sculpture museum called the Nasher. It is one of the best in the world. Be sure to watch the movie that shows the background of how the nashers developed their collection. I think you could take a picnic lunch but confirm that first. I lived in Dallas my whole life until 6 months ago and this is the top thing I would recommend.

The Book Depository museum is FANTASTIC. I found the Alamo horrifying - racist and inaccurate in its presentation. That was about 12 years ago - perhaps the educational info has been updated.

Some good places to eat: Schoepf's BBQ in Belton (Pres. Bush had them cater his crawford ranch)

Texas Land and Cattle in Austin. Hands down my favorite steak. And i think kids eat free there on saturdays at lunch.

The Alamo Cafe in San Antonio. Nowhere near the Alamo, but you must get the homemade tortillas and queso. Warm, cheesy goodness!

We just made a trip to Okla.City, the Cowboy Museum hall of fame, was great, we ate at the Stockyards Steak house, excellent meal neat atmosphere, then we rode on the Water Taxi, its a boat trip on a man made canal in old town Okla. City. Enjoy your trip, when we travel we always pray the God would direct our path and show us things He's know we would like to see.

How about the Cowgirl Museum in Fort Worth, The Dallas Arboretum, Fair Park in Dallas has many things, the Children's Aquarium and the Nature and Science Museums are in that complex. The Book Depository in Dallas. The Dallas Arboretium is huge and at one time had a cool children's area. I would go online and look at specific areas and see what is out there that is specific for your family needs. If you are staying at hotels check with them for places of interest. There are so many things to do I can't even remember everywhere we have been but Dallas and Fort wWorth both have a ton of museums, places to eat and other things to do. Have fun

If you are going down I-35 you will have less to choose from as far as things to do and see. I would get the travel guides for the state tourism departments and route the trip according to what you want to see. There are so many things in Northern Oklahoma and close to Tulsa but so out of the way unless you were willing to travel down highways instead of interstate roads.

I planned our trip to Billings Montana and we took almost all state highways and saw so many sights. It can be great fun but only you know what the boys would find totally boring and what they would find totally absorbing.

My favorite activities in Dallas are the Dallas World Aquarium and the Sixth Floor Museum.

how cool - i am in olathe, and i have made this trip! what are the odds! it has been many years but i was going to definitely say the river walk. we also did sea world- which is awesome, if it's warm enough! :) too long ago to remember the rest - but have a ball!

The cowboy hall of fame is in Oklahoma City. Also in Oklahoma city is White Water Bay which is a water park that I always liked when I lived there - it's not as big as like a Six Flags... which I really like.

Also - in Austin there is an arboretum - like a big botanical gardens. I have never been there but when I lived in that area of the country people would rave about going there.

Also Sea World in San Antonio is GREAT.
