Hello ladies,
I am happily married with 3 wonderful children, 7, almost 5, and a 2 1/2 year old. After my last one, I had my tubes tied. The hubby and I are tossing around the idea of having another baby. My question is if any of you had experience of getting it reversed, how big the cost was, and if you had success. Thanks in advance! M.

What can I do next?

I have done a little research for myself and The Reproductive Medicine Group in Tampa, it is about $5,100. Its cheaper than IVF which starts at $10,000. But depending upon the style of tubal you had depends on the chances of success. Good Luck

I have not had it done but my friend was thinking about the same thing when she talked to her dr he said it would cost around 10K and insurance does not cover it (well at least for her) When I had my tubes tied the dr said that you could cut on one of two sides one side is easier for reversal and the other is almost impossible to reconnect. I see that the amount my friend was told is much different that the previous response. I guess the amount will depend on your dr and the hospital you choose. Wish you the best of luck.

Hi M.,
I tried to respond to you the other day but my email froze. To answer your question, my hubby and I decided to have an ours since we are a combined family. The cost to us was $5500.00 for the procedure and we chose to go to the Chapel Hill Tubal reversal center in North Carolina. The procedure was less than an hour, outpatient and we were pregnant within a year and I went back to work the following week. We now have the most precious healthy baby boy and wouldn't trade the experience for anything. Dr. Berger and his staff were amazing, I would recommend them to anyone. You can view their website at www.tubal-reversal.net. They will send you out a free video of the procedure if you like. By the way my last child before the reversal is 18 so my tubes had been tied for 16 years and it worked. So hope this information is helpful, good luck.

I have not had it done but my husband and I did look into it because he has no children of his own and our doctor told us the reversal would cost us 5 grand and of course theres no insurance coverage for that and not gaurntees, it also depends on how your tubes were tied to whether or not they can be undone succesfully.

IVF is always an option you can look into donating part of your eggs and they give you a reduced cost, at least where I am, I could not do that either though cause of health risks..

Good luck!
