STRAIGHT RUBBING ALCOHOL. Put a generous amount on the area and then rub it off. I SHOULD work. If not, try GOO-BE-GONE.
I know this has been asked before, but I can't find the responses... I took a retail sticker (the kind with the bar code and size) off a pair of navy blue dress pants and washed them and the residue from the sticker is still on the pants! I tried a lint roller and it won't come off! HELP!
Sol-U-Mel worked wonders...sprayed it on brushed it lightly with a sponge and rewashed (in cold water even!) The pants came out good as new! Thank You!

Lestoil. Apply to residue, let sit for a few minutes. You can rub it if you want. Wash in hottest water safe for fabric. DON'T dry in dryer until you know the residue is gone.
Good luck

Goo Gone. Took gum off my good work pants and left no stain after washing.
You should try using Goo Be Gone-it's worked on everything I've used it on :) Hope it works!
Sol U Mel from Melaleuca!!!
If you want More info let me know.
Good Luck

My dad swears by duct tape, but I haven't tried it myself. Not sure how it would work on jeans, but he says it does the trick on sticky residue left on DVD and CD covers, etc. Good luck.
There is a product called GOO GONE that might work.
Check your hardware store.
Take the pants back to the store where you bought them. Please make them aware of the situation. It could be due to a problem at the manufacturing facility and they should either give you an exchange or refund. Good luck.
"Goo Gone" will work. Then wash it again in warm/hot water.
