Requests for Prayer? Scientific Info IS Available!

Seems that all prayer-oriented requests are being YANKED lately.
There is scientific proof that PRAYER WORKS, but I was wondering if anyone can provide specific links or resources about this?

What can I do next?

Hey mamasource
stop filtering questions!!! I've noticed this too when someone sounds too "conservative" e.g. You might be opposed to abortion.. Those posts get knocked off here too..
Big brother... Or big mamma is watching.............either run this site fairly or don't run it at all...

I noticed that, i saw that post and went looking for it to read further on it.

hey guys my gma is not doing good, her days are numbered it's hard on all of her kids to take turns helping gpa take care of her, he's wound up in hospital due to stress and was ok until the dr said he could go home then blood pressure SKYROCKETED.....please keep my family in your prayers!

there it's not a post, let's see if this gets removed......boy does satan have control these days if you don't like a paticular post...dont' reply to it if you find it offensive, unless it's directed at YOU specifically.

Really? Did the O. from the lady about the woman getting killed by the bull get yanked? I don't understand "big brothers" thinking behind this O.. They'll let people suggest to others that God wants them to beat their children, but they won't let someone request prayer? STRANGE! I'm sure this O. is about to get yanked too, but perhaps they should consider that even if someone is a complete atheist, there's no harm in sending positive energy or vibes out into the universe or concentrating on sending them to another individual. Energy is real -is never dies. Prayer is a concentration of positive energy in a particular direction, so even if you don't believe in God -you could believe in prayer or perhaps meditating on certain situations. I don't know why they would yank something like that.

Cant believe that people would have it deleted. If they dont like it then they should just not reply or look at it. Prayer is a good thing, and people need it, I think we all do at O. time or another, and if they cant see that, and be compassionate then thats a shame.
I guess everyone sees things differently.
Prayers for everyone who needs them.

Well, as a scientist, I have to tell you that the evidence on this is sketchy. But who cares really? Where's the HARM in it? And faith is part of the human condition.

There was NOTHING ugly, hateful, or judgemental in the request. I am not sure why it was yanked. It wasn't preaching to anyone.

I don't see conservative comments getting yanked when I read posts, but it does seem that maybe some people are targeted?

Glad they haven't pulled this...

Prayer, sending positive energy, meditating, whatever you want to call it, does work. If it didn't, why would so many people continue to do it???

I am not sure why a prayer post would be yanked. You do not have to be religious, christian, or believe in god to have prayer work. Prayer is simply a way to focus energy on O. who needs it. It works in the same way that mediation does.

Just for the record I didn't report this as I have no problem with prayers, religion, etc.

However Mamasource may have felt the need to pull this question because it didn't fit the 'mold': asking questions seeking advice or for local referrals. Trust me, I'm not the posting police - I mean, just this morning I posted a "just for fun" question that didn't fit the mold either.

At any rate, just trying to shed some light on the situation. Also, if a question gets reported enough it is often automatically taken down. For example, a few years back I had over $50 in formula coupons to GIVE away...for FREE to someone local who could use them because it wasn't the brand we used and expected nothing in return. That post was flagged and shot down too, so it might not be the actual question or post, but rather the number of times it is reported. After contacting Mamasource and asking why my post was pulled despite following the guidelines and got an apology reply along with a reinstatement.

Have you all tried www.Prayer.org? They take requests and they send Prayers.. Maybe that is a better site.. This way it will not be deleted..

I believe that if there is no "?" in your posted question that the system auto-pulls it. So if you say "Please pray for my family." instead of "Will you pray for my family?" - the statement would get auto-pulled, but the QUESTION will be left alone because your post has a QUESTION in it. Hope that helps!

Not to burst anyones bubble, but here's the study:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/4681771.stm

JMHO, a request for help, prayer, what have you belongs in a local community, not on a resource board for moms. I know the death of such a young woman is tough, but a generic request for prayers would quickly clog the board from real, mommy issue driven questions if they were continually allowed. Which is probably why it was pulled. If it was "how do help my child deal with this?" "what can I do to help the family" "Whats best: casseroles or sending a cleaning lady" it might be different.

And as MR so nicely said it...I'm not trying to be the posting police either. Just trying to help as I know people who believe in prayer get a bit touchy sometimes when non-believers chime in.

I don't remember how the recent prayer request was worded, but when I read it it seemed like they were asking for *support*, which is what this site is supposed to be for...

Now if they asked for you to pray that they win the lottery.... not so much lol

I am not a religious person at all. I do not do prayers. But it does not offend me for other people to ask for prayers. I'm not going to say that I will be praying, but I will be thinking about them & hoping they get thru the situation.

I posted once about a cleaner I found that took crayon out of my daughter's clothes. I did not ask a question, but I thought I was offering advice... nope, got pulled.

I can't remember what the question was, but once I really was asking a question, and it got pulled. I guess they didn't think I was serious. I had a full sentence question with question mark & everything. They still didn't like it.

Again I don't remember the topic, but there was an offensive (in my opinion as well as others who had responded) post that I know I reported, as did others who said they did, but people were replying to it & saying how it was offensive & shouldn't be posted, etc. It never got pulled!!! ugh! I guess I have a love / hate relationship with this site... haha

Did they pull that prayer request for the gal whose friend got killed by the bull this morning?
I saw a doctor talking on a youtube vid a couple of months ago, but I cant for the life of me find it now (of course), but he knew the patient was gonna die and he did and the nurse was in the room prepping him for the family to come see his dead body, but a small voice told him (the doc) to pray for the patient and go back to the room and he did... and the nurse asked him why he was there.... anyway, bottom line the guy came back to life. Prayer is real and really works! Getting people to believe is soooo hard tho ;(
ADDED... here's that vid I was talking about-- http://www.cbn.com/media/player/index.aspx?s=/vod/SAF13v5_WS
