i have red itchy bumps on my knee, its about the size of a quarter but not in a circle.
about 15-20 bumps ive had it for about 1-2 weeks already, ive tried using lotramin ultra but it only helps with the itching
( i already have an appointment set up . in 2 weeks i cant get it any time sooner)

If they're small like pimples it sounds like heat rash? If they're a bit bigger I would've said hives. Benadryl would be fine for either one and Cortiad or something along that line is better then Lotrimin. Lotrimin is for fungal rashes...
Sounds like hives...I get them any place fabric rubs when I am under severe stress (bra straps, shoulders, waistband). Try Benedryl...it won't hurt even if it isn't hives...
i agree with the shingles. i had them on my back ( about a a 2 inch circle). i had no idea it was shingles. i got it when my daughter had chicken pox and i thought they were spider bites. needless to say my daughter got chicken pox again (2 times before the age 1) and i have had the virus 4 times now lol

Is this the dermatologist that's making you wait two weeks for an appointment? If so, I'd make an appointment with your general practitioner sooner. No one here can diagnose you and even if we could tell you exactly what it is, we can't treat you.
it sounds like hives. I get them inexplicably on my knees when I get too hot. (hot day, hot shower, etc). I agree with SammyJo, Benedryl is helpful. If it's an allergy, try using unscented laundry detergent.
Take photos of it.
So you can show your Doctor... since the Appointment is not for TWO weeks.
...like pimples? They have a white pustule in the middle? If so, this is not hives. Hives do not have pustules in the middle.
Maybe an insect bite?

Maybe... go to a Pharmacist at a drugstore, show him/her your knee...and see if they can identity it????
Or go to an Urgent Care office.
This is the awful thing about any skin complaint -- it may be long gone before the doctor sees it so the doctor has no real idea what you were experiencing!
Yes, absolutely take photos, as someone said. But I'd also call the doctor's office back and push them: "This is a skin issue and it likely may be gone by the time of this appointment. If the doctor really wants to treat this he/she needs to see it WHILE it is flaring up which is now." Also ask if they have cancellations; call in the morning and see if they have any for the day. We've experienced this in our family -- recurring skin problems that are cleared up by the time of the doctor visit, only to return AFTER the doctor has gone, "Uh, um, maybe it's..." So we've learned to be frankly pushy and tell them they will miss what they need to diagnose us if they make us wait. And if iin your case it's shingles -- you need treatment sooner rather than later. Shingles can be serious!
I would take a picture just in case they go away to show the doctor. Benadryl helps with allergies. I would take some it may help with the itching. I use this for my kids when they get rashes from antibotics or food allergies.
