I've kept many glass baby food jars. I'm thinking of doing something crafty with them for Halloween decorations! Has anyone done this before? I'm not very crafty-wish I was.

What can I do next?

I have a Christmas gift idea. I hot glued 5 of them together to make a Christmas tree. One on top, then 2, then 3. I filled the jars with Christmas colored M&M's (it took about a large bag or so). I took a red ribbon and tied it around the outside of the jars (after being glued) and tied a bow at the top (the single jar at the top). Then I did a die-cut of a Christmas tree that fit on top and hot glued that with just a dot or two (went to a scrapbook store to do that). I wrote TO: and FROM: on the tree. We gave them to all the preschool teachers and aides at the school. Each gift cost me the cost of M&M's, and some green cardstock. :)

The teachers loved them and some even said they kept their's out as a decoration over the Christmas break.

ETA: I just read your other post about baby's bday. Could you use the jars to make a party favor for older guests??? Maybe fill them with a fun snack for older kids? Decorate the jar by painting orange lines down the sides and painting a jack-o-lantern face on the lid? Tying some raffia around the top to look like vines?

I did that -- I used them to make spider votives for our front walk -- use black (or whatever color) pipe cleaners to make the legs, add a same-colored pompon for the head, two goggly eyes, and voila! You have a spider -- place a tea light in the jar and you're set -- we got lots of compliments, but we also set our lawn on fire and I worried about all the flouncy capes brushing over them, so we haven't done it since, but I wouldn't let them be on our walk way again, unless they were the battery operated tea lights.

Several years ago I made really cute Christmas snow globes with them. I'm sure you could do the same for Halloween! Try googling "baby food jar snow globe" and if your on pinterest search for ideas there, too :)
