If you go by any elementary schools they have huge Green containers outside. The schools get money and donations if they get so much paper in there. I take my papers to my son's school but we live South. I am unsure on the cans. Thanks Jen
does anyone know where I can turn in paper and cans for recycling?

there are alot of schools that have recyling bins outside their schools like our school has a recyling bin and the profits from them go to the school
It depends on where you live...I have some ideas on the NE and N side if you want them. Just reply and ask:)
Here is a website with a list of all the recycling locations in Indy. Hope this helps. You can also drop off paper, magazines, and batteries at most local libraries. I usually take my batteries and paper to the Nora Branch on 86th Street.
Well I'm not sure where you are but I'm close to Fishers/geist area and I bring mine to the marsh off of Fox Rd and Oaklandon rd.
Most of the towns/cities in central Indiana have curbside recycling. You have to sign up for it and it only costs like $2-$3 a month extra on your garbage bill. It's the most convenient way. They give you a couple bins and you can recyle newspapers, any other type of paper, cardboard (including cereal boxes and other lightweight food boxes, cans, bottles, plastic, etc. If you don't count diapers, about 75% of our household 'garbage' goes into the recyle bins instead of the landfill.
