Recycle the Bible?

We have a Bible that is not that old, but it is quite worn out. I inquired about getting it rebound, but that was going to cost about $80. I would pay that price if this were a sentimental Bible, but it is just a Bible used by my husband for the last few years. Should I put the pages in the recycle bin, or is that not okay with God? :)

What can I do next?

I would say the best way to recycle the Bible is to give it to someone who may use it. If you or your family members will never use it again you could always give it to CCA, a local church or other charitable organization. The Bible is God's love letter to each of us and chances are it could bring hope to someone someday.

What a great question. I would question what to do also. I look forward to reading the responses you receive. Is it too worn out to be donated to some place?

You can certainly check with your church to see if they would like to donate it to a shelter or something similar. (My church supports a couple of specific shelters). If it is to far gone to be something someone can read anymore, I think the fact that you are worried about this shows what a good and faithful person you are. I think God would be proud of your recycle idea which will help preserve our planet! After all, it is just a book....it is what we do with it's knowledge that makes it great!

I think it would be fine to recycle it. God knows your intentions...he knows you are not trying to be disrepectful to His word or throw it away. If it makes you more comfortable, maybe you could donate it to a homeless person or something. God Bless

IMO .... God wants us to take care of the Earth God gave us. Recycling would be just fine. :-)

I have no idea, but what a good question. The American flag has rules on how to dispose of used up flags...why wouldn't the Bible.

I guess I'd give it away at the next charity pick up.
