E.,
Your laproscopic surgery should not be that bad. You will have a couple of small puncture holes, one for the camera, one for the instruments. You should expect some slight bruising and tenderness at those sites. You should be able to take small amounts of pain medicine for any pain you experience. You should be out of commission for 2-3 weeks, so if you have anyone to help with your boys during that time, meals, housework and all. They will teach you to do self catheterizations after your foley catheter comes out. That is probably the worst part. It is easy once you get the hang of it. You will probably be on antibiotics so talk with your doctor about any drug allergies you have. The more you can do before the surgery to get your home in order, the better.
God bless you, and good luck.
