Reasons for Getting Nauseous Every Night at 6Pmish--smells Really Get to M.?

For the last two weeks I've gotten nauseous around dinner time every night. My daughter had the stomach bug when it first started so I assumed I was J. fighting it off but it's not going away. Last night we were grocery shopping and my boyfriend got fried chicken and I almost got sick int he middle of the aisle?? It lasted the whole time in the grocery store as long as I smelled the chicken in the basket, then I was fine. Then the same at home while he was heating it up, but then I was fine the rest of the night. The day prior I was hungry we went to a diner before going sledding and by the time we ordered I was so nauseous that I couldnt eat anything then or for the rest of the night. It;s odd because I can eat fine at breakfast or lunch time, and have been eating lighter meals, probably because my stomach isnt as hungry from not eating at nighttime? We still went sledding and that didn't make M. feel sick but the act of walking back up the hill had the same affect?

Anyone ever have this?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

God no, I take the pill every day. I got my period a week early last month so technically I'm due for it yesterday but my active pills are still for another few days, so I'm not sure when I'm due for it. BUT I've had this feeling for 2 weeks, that would be too early to be signs of that, AND i'm religious with taking the pill on time

Jo---NOOOOO she's not getting that puppy...for a long time lol
Also I have no other symptoms of being pregnant- no breast soreness, or any other symptoms...J. simply at night time I want to get sick.

Take a test anyway. My morning ....aka smells and afternoon and evening sickness, always started right after conception and way before implantation. I don't care how many people say that it's not possible. I've been pregnant 7 times. I know my body.

Are you pregnant? I couldn't stand the taste or smell of thyme when I was pregnant.

Years ago I used to eat a Snickers bar everday at around 10 a.m. at work. Before lunch I would feel sick to my stomach. I thought I was about to become ill. Instead, I realized I was hungry for lunch. It turns out I am allergic to chocolate and do not tolerate other ingredients in the bar - sugar is a big problem for M..

Do you eat something before dinner time every day? Maybe you're allergic or intolerant of something. Maybe there may be some underlying nutritional deficiency. Maybe if you keep a food journal as to what you are eating, you may find a culprit.

Good luck!

Was last month's early period lighter than usual? Could have been implantation bleeding and you could be about 6 weeks pregnant... which is when nausea typically hits. Take a test anyway, even if you don't believe you could be pregnant. They have them at the Dollar Store if money is an issue!

Ok - totally different answer than everyone else :)
Since you are eating lighter meals because you haven't been feeling well, it could be that your blood sugar is dropping late in the afternoon. That happens to M., and when it does it makes M. feel nauseous and light headed. And the nausea feeling is aggrevated by exercise (like walking back up a hill). If it is happening every day around 6pm, make sure you eat a healthy snack around 3 or 4PM for a few days, and see if that helps.

I know it doesn't make sense that you would feel sick and unable to eat when blood sugar is low, but it does happen to M..

Did your birth control pills change? Sometimes they can make you nauseous for the first few months if you've switched. Otherwise, I'd take a pregnancy test!

If you're on the pill, you shouldn't have gotten your period a week early. Take a pregnancy test J. to rule it out. My mom had dinner-time "morning" sickness when she was pregnant with M..

I agree with the other mamas, sounds like you might be pregnant.

With my second one, I had "morning" sickness in the evenings for the first few weeks. If you haven't missed a period, but are due to start in the next week, grab an early results test and test now. Otherwise, you'll have to wait till a few days before your period should start.

The pill is not 100% effective. Only abstinence is.

Take a test and let us know.

if you take the pill religiously as you say...then your period should not have been a week early last time unless you switched pills and in that case you could still be pregnant if you were not cautious for the first few weeks.

I would take a test and stop taking the pill until you know for sure.

Even tho you take the pill religiously, you could be pregnant. i got pregnant using birth control, it happens. You could have gotten pregnant a month ago and the last period could have been implantation bleeding or normal first trimester bleeding. So you could be pregnant unless you have not had sex at all. I would highly suspect pregnancy. Take a test J. to be sure. But as others have said, low or high blood sugar can cause those symptoms too. As can certain viruses, new medications and a variety of things. The thing you want to rule out first is pregnancy. If you are not pregnant, then check your blood sugar levels. Unless you know you have started or stopped a medication which can be giving side effects. If all else is ruled out it is probably a virus. But you really should rule out the most obvious, pregnancy.

Sounds like your preggers to M.. J. because you religiously take it doesn't mean it can't happen. Have you been sick or taken an anti-biotic? Then you could be.

Constantly smelling something the same time every night means something else to M.. Take the test and get back to us.

My daughter started a pill seasonique or something and it takes longer than you think to get ito her system. Her abnormal side affects for the pill were her acutally pregnancy affects. Mother nature didn't like what was going on and she miscarried and didn't know she was pregnant. So it can happen.

Remember they tell you each pregnancy is different in how it presents.

Early here - congrats?!
