Re-attaching a Silver Base to a Glass Bowl

Hi - I tried to search for this on the internet but couldn't find an answer. Has anyone ever glued silver and glass together? I have an old glass fruit bowl that has short silver footed base. This was a pretty popular wedding shower gift in the early 70's because I know at least 4 people married during that time who have this bowl LOL. Anyway...the silver foot has come off of mine. Would love to know if simple super glue, gorilla glue or the like would do the job or if there is something specific for metal and glass that I should use? Any of you crafty DIY mamas know? Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone! Looks like e6000 is the way to go. I'll give that a try.

Use e6000. Google it, but you can get it everywhere, Home Depot, Walmart etc.

I would either speak to the manufacturer or take it to a good jewelry shop.

You need a special glue and then a UV light to bond it and to avoid air bubbles.

I remodel houses and occasionally I have a glass bar top that is glued to a metal base. Never used silver though.
To be on the save side you should talk to a local glass company. They also could do it for you.

I tried to glue a Christmas decoration with Super Glue, epoxy and Gorilla Glue. Wouldn't hold. Hot glue did the trick.

Normally though I find epoxy glue works the best for just about anything (you have to mix two tubes together). It has held up to frequent washings too.

I use E5000 for most all glue issues. I buy it at Hobby Lobby. Big silver tube.

If you know the manufacturer, it might be worth talking to them about it.
