it sounds like hives, I get them if I get too hot. I get them especially on my knees and elbows.
Hi,
My four year old daughter woke up from her nap yesterday and had kind of a splotchy rash on her legs. It sort of looked patterned and circular red splotches (actually the skin was sort of red and the circular parts were skin color). Well, it went away by night and then today she had it on her arms. It looked worse after her nap, and seems to be sort of faded now. It's not on her legs any more except in a couple of spots on her thighs. I'll take her to the doctor tomorrow if it doesn't look better, but anyone know what it might be?

Why wait until tomorrow to see the doctor? I'd take her now. If it's hives she needs treatment. If it's not, you need to rule hives out anyway. There are many, many reasons for rashes, some simple and some not (everything from Lyme disease, which can be very serious, to poison ivy, to allergic reactions that could be serious or not). Get it checked out.
Hopefully its resolved its self by now and you don't have to see the doctor. My daughter has some "odd" things going on with her skin (she's 18 and graduating from HS this afternoon). In her case, Rheumatologists were better at diagnosing it that Dermotologists and Allergy doctors. Keep that in mind if you need a specialist.
A heat rash, perhaps? Is it itchy or just there? Has there been any fever? I have seen this on my kids and it seemed to be heat related, but I asked the questions as the doctor will want to know.
sounds like hives. especially if they were raised and come and go. warm water and blankets make them come out more. has she had a new food or medicine? If they come back, you could try some Children's Benedryl as they mean she is reacting to something.
