Quick Food Ideas for Camping

When we go camping we usually grill chicken, brats, burgers, ribs. Sometimes we want to make a fast meal without waiting for the Weber to warm up. Any ideas without using the oven(in the camper)? I have been starting to buy chicken breasts when on sale and cutting it up into strips and freezing it for wraps and stuff like that. Any good chicken wraps or other chicken dishes without the oven would be great!

What can I do next?

With no cooking involved . . .
Ham sandwiches, whole hams or sliced ham
precooked hotdogs
cold fried chicken
Bologna sandwiches
peanutbutter and jelly
chips, cheese and salsa

Basically what ever you would eat at home with no cooking.

Hope you will be a happy camper. ;~)) Good luck to you and yours.

If you go to an outdoor store, many of them carry dehydrated meals. They come in a thick plastic bag. All you need to do is heat up some water and add it to the bag, let it sit for a few minutes and it's ready to eat right from the bags. No dishes, even.

I like the Tyson Grilled and Ready chicken or steak in a bag. I use it for wraps and quesadillas. It's not as tasty as a fresh grilled chicken breast or steak, but works great in a pinch. Trader Joe's has noodle bowls that are similar to Ramen noodle bowls, but they are healthier and taste great. Fresh salads with pouch tuna can be tasty. Chicken salad sandwiches and chips would be good. Our Sam's Club and Fresh Market have great rotisserie chicken salad.
Happy camping!

We do some instant couscous and smoked salmon. The couscous can be made on the stovetop or over a small propane burner. Smoked salmon is more expensive, but easy. We get it from Trader Joe's.
