My daughter has easily grasped the concept of potty training.
I never had to use any tactics such as, "You'll stay naked until you use the potty."
And when she goes #1, everything is normal.
But when it's time for #2, she wants to get completely naked.
No socks or anything.
It's kinda funny, but I realize she won't be able to act on these impulses to get naked in school.
Anyone have an idea on how I can get this to stop.
I've tried telling her she can't get naked in school, and if I don't help her take them off, she takes them of herself or won't go.
If she is anything like my child, she'll hold it until she can get home, get naked and take care of business.
This will stop soon enough and eventually be a funny memory.
LOL my son wasn't naked but he had to have everything off from the waist down!
Not sure why, but it was just a phase.
He started preschool (part time) at three and it never happened there. Of course, I think he was just "holding" it for home, so he could do it his way.
Try not to worry, these things have a way of working themselves out :)
My almost 5 year old routinely gets naked to poop. Isn't he cold?!?! :)
At the minimum, pants, underwear, shoes, usually socks come off and often I find him in there without a shirt on, too. He doesn't seem to do this anywhere else, but like Mamazita, I think he tries to hold it for home anyway.
One thing I've noticed is that he scoots way back on the seat and I think having the clothes around his knees or even ankles doesn't give him the, uh, spread he needs to sit that far back. And I can see how he might think once the bottom half is undressed, might as well make the top half match.
Both of my brothers did this. As far as I know, neither strips down in the office or courtroom to do their business. No worries. It will pass.
she will outgrow this. My middle child was the same way. He kept his shirt on, but everything else was off. He did this until he started preschool. Now my 3 yr old that I just potty-trained is the same way. He has to take socks off too! I don't worry because I know he'll eventually stop. It is frustrating though to have to put all of that stuff back on every time.
She won't do this at school. She'll see that other kids don't do this. She'll also not be as relaxed as she is at home. I wouldn't be concerned about it. Just let her do it. Be glad she's using the potty.
I suggest that the more you try to stop her the more she'll want to do it. One good way of stopping behavior is to completely ignore it.
That is funny! Kids! All I can think of is rewards for not getting naked. A few marshmallows, stickers, you choose!
