Question About Preschools

My 3 year old boy will be going to preschool next year. He is in Mother's Day Out right now and I'm trying to look up preschools in our area. Are all preschools private in Texas? I haven't found any that were part of the school district. How do I go about finding one for the next school year? Any advise or recommendations are appreciated!

What can I do next?

My daughter attends GEM Express in Allen through Church. Over the summer she went to Apple Creek in Plano. Apple Creek is more expensive. We love both, she has been going to pre-school since she turned 2 and she really enjoys going. If you want contact information for either, let me know.

I believe Plano ISD has one as well. Again, very hard to get into and I have no idea of $$$.

Several of my neighbors swear by Apple Creek. My daughter is 13 now and she attended preschool at Christ UMC at Parker/Coit. It is still a great preschool.

Good luck

Most school districts have preschool, but it is offered to students who "qualify"---low income, at risk, military, foster kid, ESL, ect....I suggest you leave a message for a Kindergarten teacher at the school your child will attend to ask for reccommendations in the area.

I know that both Allen and McKinney have preschools through the school district, but the do cost you (about the same as private). I've heard that the Allen one is terrific but I know nothing about the McKinney one. Also, the Allen one is hard to get into so register as early as you can!!
