Hate the screw backs for little earrings- too shallow and always come off. We use the piercing earrings too. She lost one because the strap on the stroller caught it and pulled it off. Ouch! Other than that, they have stayed on wonderfully!
My daughter is 16months old and has had her ears peirced for almost a year. She used to do fine with them, but now where she is so active, they keep comming out. I have went thru about 6 pair with her, i keep buying the ones with the safety backs that lock and arent supposed to come off, but they still do. My 4 year old has the same kind and they never come off. Any advice on where to buy earings that wont come off so easily?

when my girls went through this, we went to an east indian jeweller, had custom earring made, and they make them a bit longer, put it in, then curl the back of the post instead of using a back. Problem solved, we went back when they were older to have the posts cut, (to remove them) then they were straightened perfect & backs were added. 22 carat gold is what they used, no cleaning, no infections or irritations, & you choose your stone or whatever.
screw back earrings you can find them in the mall
use her original studs till she gets older.
get screw back earrings.
I second piercing earrings. they do stay on the best, although I connot say she has never lost one.
You could try buying some seperate piercing earrings with the lock on backs. Wal-mart has some for around $10. You could also buy them at Claire's, Piercing Pagola, wherever ears can be pierced. You can't tell piercing earrings from regular when they are in, and they have the rounded lock-on backs so they won't poke her... unless those are the safety backs you are talking about... then I would agree with trying the screw backs like Jacy B. mentioned... Or try them anyway. They would probably work just as well.. I just have no clue where you would get them.
