T.H.
Yup, my recipe is the same as Christy Lee's...and it's so awesome! Someone recently put on here a pulled chicken recipe with onion soup mix and I'll be trying that this week too! I love easy, delicious stuff! ;)
I've seen pulled pork as an answer to several food questions (including my own), and I've done it before.
What pork cut do you buy? What is your recipe? How do you cook it? I'd prefer to use the crockpot. My stove WILL NOT be turned on for several more days with this blasted heat we are having.
I know I could google it, but would prefer to get recipes from moms and dads I trust.
You can give me the basic ingredients, etc. and I can go from there. We have no allergies, and love almost all spices, and herbs....prefer it to NOT be spicy. The kids won't eat it.
Thanks!
So, I have one going in the crockpot today. I didn't have root beer, so I used a Dr. Pepper. So glad to see that GrammaRocks has used this, too. It seemed logical! :)
THANKS! I don't know why I'd never done this before. SO EASY!

Here you go!
Slow Cooker Pulled Pork Deliciousness
Ingredients:
1 (5 pound) pork butt (also called "pork shoulder roast" or "Boston butt.")
2 (12 fluid ounce) cans or bottle root beer
2 (18 ounce) bottle your favorite barbecue sauce
16 hamburger buns, split and lightly toasted
Directions:
1. Place the pork butt in a slow cooker; pour the root beer over the meat. Cover and cook on low until well cooked and the pork shreds easily, 6 to 7 hours. Note: the actual length of time may vary according to individual slow cooker. Drain well. Stir in barbecue sauce. Serve over hamburger buns.
You can halve this recipe easily. You'll need a big slow cooker for the whole thing.
Enjoy!
ETA: Don't use pork loin! Pork tenderloin is the most expensive roast, and it's already TENDER so you don't need to slow cook it! It's wasteful. Save your money and go with one of the roasts I've mentioned above. I promise you won't regret it. I have no idea why people want to waste a good tenderloin on pulled pork. Pulled pork is MEANT to be made from a cheap cut to save money.
This is insanely easy:
put a 3 to 4 pound pork shoulder roast (I prefer boneless) in a crock pot, pour a can of beef broth over it and cook it on low for about 8 hours. Drain the broth, shred the meat, put it back in the crock pot and stir in a bottle of bbq sauce. Let it cook for another 30 minutes or so. YUM!!!
I purchase what is on sale. Pok butt, pork roast. 3 to 4 lb.
remember to use a crockpot liner bag.
Slice a large white onion place on bottom of crock pot.
Grate 2 to 3 large carrots on top of onion.
1 tablespoon liquid smoke.
1/4 water
Salt and pepper the pork and place in crockpot on top of all of this. Sometimes I have to cut a large piece of pork into 2 or 3 pieces.
Cook on low for 6 hours. Pull out any bones, extra fat and pour out some of the liquid.
Then add your favorite sauce if you want.
We do not like sugary sweet meat, so we tend to use a BBQ sauce that is not real sweet.
We also find regular hamburger buns fall apart, so we use kaiser rolls.
True Cuban sandwiches, are the pulled pork, no sauce on it, with chopped pickles and white onions...
Pork loin, roast, or Whatever. Put in crockpot with a jar of BBQ sauce. Cook on low for 6-8hrs. Shred & serve.
Pork Sholder ..
Put in crock pot, in apple Juice on low 10 hrs.
shred, add BBQ sauce if you like
I use the mose basic, and easiest. No additional ingredients at all.
To feed a larger amount of people (or to just make extra to have leftovers), I use a 4-5 lb pork loin and one big (not the regular sized) bottle of Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce (I use the maple and brown sugar one). I cut the loin into 3 sections, place in the crockpot, pour the entire bottle of bbq sauce over it, cover and cook on high for about 7 hours. I then shred it and restir and even my picky brats love it lol!
I just recently made this during a camping trip and I ended up feeding everyone at the campsite because it smelled so good and tasted awesome (word spreads fast lol)
Enjoy!
Boneless pork loin - 3-4lbs.
crock pot.
Loin in the pot, add a can of coke, and leave it cook on low for 8 hrs.
Add in BBQ sauce of choice. (I like Jack Daniel's Honey Smokehouse.)
Shred and eat!
I do a 2-3 lb boneless pork loin,
Salt, pepper, and a can of root beer. Cook on low 9-10 hours.
Shred, then add a bottle of barbecue sauce (I like honey or hickory smoke...) 1 tbsp-. lemon juice, 1 teaspoon brown sugar, one chopped onion. Then cook on low for another 2 hours.
I had this for the first time last night, and it was awesome. :)
Ditto ⊱♥Christy♥Lee♥⊰'s recipe, but I use Dr. Pepper : )
