Pulled-Pork Or Pulled- Beef in Crock Pot?

So I've done pulled-pork in my crock pot.
Can I just do the same recipe with the beef chuck roast I have? In the crock-pot?
Silly question. But it should taste good/fine/the same right? Except this is beef.

I just want to make use of the chuck roast I have. Don't wanna buy a pork chunk just for that.
But want the BBQ taste and serve it in buns.
My family likes pulled-pork, so I figured I'd just make the same thing, but with the beef chuck I already have.

Feeling 'lazy' about cooking today.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

It turned out GREAT!
My entire family loved it, and they all ate seconds. And, there is barely enough left, for leftovers!

Thanks to all of you!

You should be able to make it the same.

Here is a quick and easy pulled-beef recipe that I LOVE it is sooo yummy. Just press a few cloves of fresh garlic into the beef (I just do a slit down the middle) and then put a packet of dry lipton onion soup mix on top of the beef. Let it cook all day. It is soooo delicious you would never belive that no extra liquid was added!

Sounds delicious! What time should we be there and should we bring red or white?

(Yes I make brisket in the crock pot, sometimes it gets a little over done and ends up being shredded beef sammies. Beef or pork, low and slow + plenty of fat=tender and delicious!)

:)

I have done that before and it turned out great. The only thing that I didn't like was that the beef was little drier that the pork but that is just the meat difference and not the recipe.

I've never done beef this way, but it is the best and easiest way to do pork, and I'm sure that it would work just as well for beef.

1 pork loin
garlic salt
onion salt
seasoned salt
black pepper
1 can root beer

Liberally sprinkle loin with the desired amount of seasonings; add 1 can of rootbeer. Cover and cook on low in the crockpot for 12 hours. This pulls very easily. Serve on buns. I serve BBQ sauce on the side as there are some of us that just don't like BBQ. I usually make this a day ahead and warm up in the crockpot. I always add a can of chicken broth when I'm reheating to keep it from drying out. I've also used Coke when I haven't had rootbeer on hand, and it works just as well.

Here in Texas - it's all about the beef brisket baby!! We don't do bbq pork, as a rule. that's waht makes it Texas BBQ. Beef and smoke from hardwood trees. (Mesquite or Hickory) We usually call it shredded beef rather than pulled, although it's exactly the same. Beef chuck roast was made for a crockpot. I usually make the traditional lipton onion soup with onions and potatoes on day one and shred the leftovers with a spicy mesquite or hickory bbq sauce. That's a double duty, 2 days of worth of meals with 1 big piece of meat.

I would sprinkle a little flour (seasoned with salt and pepper) all over the roast, and brown it in a skillet first. Then make sure to have some liquid in the crock pot (beef broth or water).
