Hello Fellow Moms-
Wondering if there are any playgroups or moms' groups that are comprised of women working part-time or just taking a short-term break from their profession to be full-time stay at home moms? I'm not from the area and it would be GREAT to connect with other moms who had active careers prior to having children.

I think there are groups called Mom's and More. Maybe google mom's groups.
Denise is right. The group is called Mothers and More. There are two chapters in close proximity to you. One is the Canonsburg/Peters Twp Chapter. Hi R., You didn't specify your location in Pittsburgh, but there is a MOMS group in the East End (Sq Hill, Shadyside, Edgewood...) comprised of women who had/have professional careers before having kids. Most of the women waited a little longer to have kids (upper 20's/30's) and many now work part-time either in or outside of the home. If you moved here from NYC you may want more of what a city can provide. I did alot of research as to what Pittsburgh has to offer my daughter is 2.5 and there are so many things out there! There are Kindermusic classes,There are groups to join at www.meetup.com. There are museums such as the childrens museum on the north side (we joined) for $100.00 for the year.
There is the AVIARY on the north side (this weekend is Dora and Diego)

I currently relocated to the PA area from Texas. My saving grace is my meetup group. (30 Something Moms on meetup.com) It is a group of women who work fulltime, part-time and stay at home. I left my profession over a year ago to move to PA for my husbands job. I am now a sahm of an active three year old and five month old.
