We have a summer's video monitor that switches from A to B to view my daughter and my son in seperate rooms. We had it for a year with no problems but now we can only pick up other peoples children sleeping!! Instead of viewing my daughter in her crib it picks up another baby in her crib and instead of my son in his bed it is picking up another little girl in her bed. It doesn't make sense to me seeing that we are obviously closer to our kids camera's so why is it picking up other peoples? These are pretty pricey, is there anything we can do to fix this issue? Has anyone else experienced this?
UPDATED: I just tried taking the monitor in his room and turning it on while standing just feet fromt the camera and still picked up someone elses!

What can I do next?

Weird! I don't really understand how this could happen.

Call the manufacturer and ask for an authorized repair place. You might be able to find this info on the Internet.

Scary knowing someone can see inside your house. I'd ditch the monitor.

someone must be on the same frequency as you and MUCH stronger than yours! I would start talking to my neighbors and mentioning this. If you know the kids in question, all the better.

This happened to us b/c we had the same monitor as our neighbors... they were on A and so were we! We switched to B and it wasn't an issue anymore. Because you have both frequencies in your house, you may be stuck with this one. Is your son old enough to sleep without a monitor?

Otherwise, call the company.

That's one reason I never really liked video monitors or any for that matter. I only used my plain old monitor if I was in the basement or if my baby was sleeping and his brother needed the bus. I never used them at night. I know on the rare occasion I used it I sometimes picked up my neighbor up the street's tv.

In the 90's we had a monitor that picked up cordless phones from around the neighborhood. It was a tad Big Brotherish for me. If I remember we switched monitors, different frequencies.

I saw a story on the news about these video monitors. It did say that sex offenders are buying these monitors just to look on peoples children. It is very scary!! My advice is to stop using it! You might think you have it fixed but someone else could be on your frequency seeing your kids and you would never know. Just as the children you are seeing, I know the parents have no idea you can see them. It is a very scary because no one knows that their privacy is being invaded. I wouldn't have even known about this either if it wasn't for the news. The news lady went down the street using a video monitor at many houses and was able to view their children. She went up to the peoples homes to let them know and it creeped out all of them and said they would no longer be using the video monitor. I don't blame them! It's definitely a important decision you have to make. I know that was scary for you!
