Any Baby Monitor Suggestions?

First never never leave a child alone expectly to mow.
What if the older child sneaks out and gets under the mower as it happened and what if the same child shuts the door and the door locks and the baby needs aid and your locked out.?
Please wait to go outside till you have a sitter be it Grandma and auntie or daddy mow and Mom and grandma babysit.

If you use a monitor and it goes out see if the cell phone etc. does.

It may be from a metal roof or a blockage from a applaince you use- elc poles or? to bad items.

The Sony Monitor to me is the best hands down to any monitor I have ever used. It has the option to hear the baby all the time and a selective mode as well. It is also cordless with rechargable batteries. Not only does it have all these great freature but, literally you can hear a pin drop in the bedroom and down the hallway.
It is simple compared to what is out there with some other features but, what I have found the more it does (and cost)the worthless it is. It runs about $50 at babies r us.

I tried using one with my first daughter, and ended up trying many, even the expensive ones. All of them ended up having problems somehow. I eventually gave up and I found that when I let go of the idea of hearing every breath of my baby sleeping, (even on the lowest volume setting) I slept more soundly.

I'm expecting in Sept. and I don't plan on using one for my 2nd baby either. You might wanna try it if you can't find one that won't work out.

We've had the rechargeable Sony babycall monitor for 5 years and it's worked really well. *But* it sometimes does what you describe, where it will cut out, or make beeping noises. We've discovered that it happens certain times of days when airplanes fly overhead ( we live in a night-time flight path of a small airport). The beeping usually stops within a minute or two. If not, all we have to do is change the frequency (I think we have 27) and it's fine. If you have the option to play around with frequencies, I'd look at that as a place to start.

well i dont have one to recomend but they're coming out with digital ones which would probably work a lot better than regular signal ones. i had all sorts of trouble with my monitor when i had one. thank god i lost a part of it so that i can hopefully get a new one at my baby shower. i also am due in the summer. congradulations on your pregnancy. but yeah try a digital one. their going to be a lil more pricey but it may be worth it. i just dont know if the one your having problems with is a digital.

We love the summer video monitor we have. We brought it with our daughter when she was a baby and used it till she is 4 yrs old.It helped with her transition to full bed and separate room.Now we have a one month old and since the old monitor picture wouldn't work,summer replaced it for us with a new set at half price and we love having it and watching her when our little one is upstairs in her crib and Iam downstairs in the kitchen cooking or something. It does get affected by wireless router but thats only for the picture part.The sound clarity is good and the pic usually is very clear.

I use the Summer monitor with the night light nothing fancy but it gets clear reception compared to a fisher price monitor we were using. I spent $20 on the summer and you don't have to worry about if it's next to a computer or phone or anything else. It could be cutting out if you place it near a electronic devices that recieve signals.
We use to live in an apartment and with the phones, monitors, we would pick up truckers conversations, and when they weren't in use our kids toys would just play all by themselves. It's possible that it is picking up other signals and cutting out. But hey if that doesn't work take it back tell them it's defective cause it's always possible that it's a dud, since we can't seem to make our own stuff in our own country. Good luck with finding a monitor.

Keep the I-Monitor its the best on the market and I haven't had any issues with mine. Maybe you got a dud? It should not loose its signal its a digital device. Do you have issue with cell phone reception in your home? I would exchange it for a new one and see if you have better luck. I like ours because you can hear the tiniest noises like the rocking chair rock back and forth. Good Luck!

We have the Summer Handheld Color Video Monitor w/ 2/5" screen and LOVE it! We got it at Target 2 years ago (http://www.target.com/Handheld-Color-Video-Monitor-Screen...) and don't regret it for a second. It's definately pricey (~$190) but worth every penny, it's saved so many trips across the house to my daughter's room in the middle of the night. It's great to be able to actually see her in the middle of the night (it has an infrared camera) or at naptime and know when she's just making noise or if she actually needs us. Good luck!

We currently use a cheaper Fisher Price one that I had with my 3 year old. My mother-in-law gave us a summer video monitor and we really liked the picture but the sound was awful. It might have been because we still had a monitor in my sons room. We wanted to try 2 different monitors so we could have one on each kid since they sleep upstairs and we sleep down. We bought a Saftey First monitor but they would cross reference and it wouldn't work with our Fisher price one. So to make a long story short we are still using our fisher price one for our daughter and our son no longer has a monitor but the Saftey First one worked really well and I know my friends have had really good luck with theirs and they are usually the cheapest if you don't buy anything fancy. We would have kept the one we bought but there really wasn't anything wrong with our Fisher Price one.

I now have the Summer Infant Day and Night Handheld Color Video Monitor at Toys R Us. I LOVE IT! I used to use a standard audio monitor but, found I was getting up several times throughout the night because my daughter was crying and I would go in there only to find that she was looking for her pacifier. Of course, once she saw me, she wasn't about to let me leave. Her room is very small so there was no way for me to figure out why she was crying, and if she actually needed me, without her seeing me. I decided to make the investment in this new monitor and I am so glad I did! It is a bit pricey but well worth it! Now, I look at her on the monitor and determine if she needs me. She is getting a lot more sleep and so am I! Plus, I have the added benefit of just watching her sleep and wake up in the mornings without her knowing it. It provides a lot of entertainment. Sometimes, on the weekends, we hook it up to the TV in the mornings and watch her as she wakes. She is 19-months and will lay in there and sing and talk to herself--quite cute! This monitor is also cordless and rechargeable. I found online that additional cameras can be purchased for it and, my hope is, since it has two channels, that I can view two different cameras when the time comes. My co-workers and I recently went together and purchased one for a friend who is having a baby. Hope this helps, good luck in your search!

I have a Safety 1st monitor I bought used, and it has worked tirelessly for 2 1/2 years. It doesn't have the vibration feature, though.

I have a monitor you could have. The reciever can be plugged in or run on batteries so it is very versitile. The only problem I have had with it is it sometimes has a little static, but I just wrap the attenae with a couple pony tail holders with a metal end to stop the static. I used it when outside raking, it does not vibrate for the mowing part, but I would just stop periodically and check in on the kids at that point. My youngest will be three in June so I do not need it anymore. You're welcome to have it if you'd like to give it a go. Just send me a message and we can figure out how to get it to you:-)
