I know the cost of preschool varies depending on where you send your little one & how many days he/she attends. I'm just curious what the going rates are since I am beginning to look at options for my daughter. I'm open to co-ops, montessori, public etc. Thank you!

My son attends Troy Co-op Preschool. The 3 year olds attend 2 days/ week for 2 1/2 hours per session. The 4 year olds attend 3 days/week for 2 1/2 hours per session. Here are the rates:

Three-year-old 2 day class: $720 ($360/semester)

Four-Year-old 2 day class: $830 ($415/semester)

Four-year-old 3 day class: $1180 ($590/semester)

Parent and Tot class: $260 ($130/semester)

Troy Co-op is considerably less then many of the other schools in the area because the parents volunteer their time in the classroom. This makes it nice because we always have a very low child to adult ratio (20 children & 5 adults each session)

My daughter attends Fraser public schools - Dooley early education (it is in Roseville even though it is Fraser Public). I pay 97.00 a month for a 3yr old two days a week 2 1/2 hours.
I did a ton of research and I am so happy with this school. It is in an old elementary school, so they have a library, gym, science room etc. She comes home with a craft almost everyday, she has learned so much and I would recommend this school to anyone. They also have a headstart program, and day care right at the school (which daycare is only 3.50 and hour) so I can drop her off early or keep her late if I need to one day. My son (4 years old)is in Birmingham Public School preschool 3 days a week for 10 hours/day(so it includes before and after care) - we pay $875/month for extended year (so all year). Some preschool programs have summers off. I know there are cheaper ones out there, but all of B'Ham teachers are certified early childhood educators and the center is NAEYC accredited. You have to think about what kind of environment you want for your little girl - a more structured setting or play-based to fit her needs.

centerline charges $11.25 for a 3 hours class for 3 or 4 year olds. you can pick any number of days morning or afternoon. It is one the cheapest around and they are flexible with days.

A lot of the preschools run 3 year old classes on Tu- Thurs.. and 4 year old classes Mon wed fri.. next year I will have a 3 and a 4 year old.. so I want them to go to school on the same days..

warren consolidated preschhol is reasonably priced.. but it has a set schedule.

Japhet school in madison heights is flexble but very expensive.

Most montessori schools only take kids 5 days a week. I work part time so I only wanted preschool on my working days..
