M.B. asks from Romeoville, IL

I am looking for a quality preschool for my soon to be three year old in the Romeoville/Plainfield area. I have been looking recently but for many programs I am too late for next year, enrollment began back in January. Being that this is her first experience away from home I want it to be a positive and enjoyable time for her.

What can I do next?

Hi Meghan, I am not sure about your schedule nor your budget, but I am thinking about Lemont Montessori School, I am a montessori teacher myself in another school in the western suburbs and I observed there not so long ago and it is wonderful, the school has been established many years ago and I think they have different schedules. They start from 3 up to 13 years of age. It is on 135th St about 5 miles east of Weber Rd. Good luck and please let us know your final choice is.

I live by 119th and Weber. There is a teacher that runs her preschool out of her basement. I know the kids love her and I will be sending my daughter there next year. It is a 2 or 2 1/2 hour preschool. Let me know if you want more info. (Bolingbrook bordering Romeoville and Plainfield)

My son goes to Peaceful Hearts Christian Preschool in Plainfield and we love it. It is part of Peace Luthern Church on Rt 126 and Rt 59. It is a great program.

Hi Meghan - have you tried Rogy's Learning Center? My daughter goes there and loves it. It's at the corner of Taylor and Old Budler Road in Romeoville (in the Lakewood Falls Subdivision). They are very loving and caring towards the children. Good luck.

Honestly, I would just start calling all the preschools/churches in your area. Be prepared with list of questions and what you are looking for in a school. And prepared if they may not let you take a tour because they are full. BUT many will allow you to be placed on a waiting list. And place your name on more than one list if you are truly interested. Good luck.

My son will be attending Bible Baptist Christian Academy in Romeoville. They start from age 3. I believe that they are still registering. I got this recommendation from a friend whose daughter attends that school. I hope this helps.

God bless,
A concerned mother

both of my children have attended APple Tree Preschool in south plainfield. Right on Rt.59 and Fraser rd.- just south of renwick. Wonderful wonderful school. Small only 2 classroom. I pay 125$ a month for two days a week for my 3 year old (actually just turned 4). Teachers are great and it's such a nice atmosphere. I am not planning on sending her next year- she's going to the school my son is at now, for other scheduling reasons, so there will be a spot open- you can check out their website- appletreepreshool.org- I think
good luck

My children go to Plainfield Park District - Great Adventures program. They love it !
I know the registration was back in February. But sometimes they still have some spots open ( I registered late a couple of times also). They have several classes (morning and afternoon) in a couple of locations.
