HI, my daughter will be 3 at the end of October. She is extremely verbal and I think she is ready for preschool a couple of days a week. Does anyone recommend a good preschool in the Crown Point area that would take a YOUNG 3 year old? She is in the process of potty training, and currently goes to daycare 1 to 2 days a week. Thanks,

What can I do next?

The daycare isn't exactly in Crown Point it's in Merrillville.
It is a family owned daycare that is Wonderful. My children have been going here for over 3 years. My 5 1/2 yr old daughter learned all of her colors, how to spell all of her colors, shapes, how to write her own name all by the time she was 3 1/2. She is in the process of learning how to read site words and she is even doing math problems on her own. I also have a 2 1/2 yr old daughter who is at the same daycare and she is in the process of potty training and the teachers have her going on the potty every 1/2 hour to hour and she is doing great. She too is learning how to spell her colors its amazing how much they retain. The place is called All About Children it is on Broadway and 73rd. It's worth a trip out to see what you think.
All I can say is the teachers love each and everyone of the kids that are enrolled there. They are patient and caring. I love having my kids here!! Wouldn't go anywhere else!!!

I would call Rainbow Covenant Preschool. They will take potty-trained kids, even if you daughter is a young 3. They are very nice there and have a terrific teaching philosophy. It is in the Presbyterian Church on the south end of the square. I can't wait to take my daughter there, just have to get her potty trained!

Hi C.-

My son just finished his first year at a wonderful preschool in CP called Little Friends...they will take them even without being potty trained (he wasn't when he started). They are wonderful and caring...the only problem is, they're in the process of deciding whether or not to return next year, b/c of some retirement and location issues they have to work out. B/C of this, I have my son enrolled at Rainbow Covenant for next year, but if Little Friends notifies me they will be back, he will go back to that school. I can let you know if they decide to come back for another year as soon as they let me know.

I have gotten LOTS of referrals for the Rainbow Covenant School though. I went for a mini tour and the classrooms seemed very nice, safe...and I hear the teachers are very good, but I wasn't super impressed with the one who will be my son's teacher (but maybe it's because she has a totally different personality than his teachers at Little Friends).

Hope this helps you out.
