I am looking for suggestions of good preschool/daycare centers. Currently I have my two children in a center that seems to be more of a daycare than a preschool. My husband and I are very happy with the care our two year old is receiving, but we are very unhappy with the four year old classroom. The kids basically can do what ever they want all day and I am fearfull of how this is going to translate to kindergarten next year. When we chose this center it was much more preschool oriented, however apparently over the summer the philosophy changed and now it is much less structured than we had originally been lead to believe. We need full time care for two children in the Grayslake/Gurnee area? Suggestions?

Thanks,
B.

I use the Brookhaven Kindercare (next to the Warren Newport Library in Gurnee) and love it! My son is 4 and has been going there since he was 5 months. He just moved into the Pre-K room and LOVES it!!!! Once daddy gets a job (hopefully soon!) my 2 yo daughter will be going there as well. The director is great and listens to our needs & concerns, and my son loves his teachers! They also have some company discounts which is a nice bonus! :)

Our family was very pleased with the Goddard School in Third Lake, on Route 45 just north of Washington. My daughter was very happy there, where she attended from age 17 months through her kindergarten year. They have excellent management, dedicated and loving teachers and a wonderful curriculum and structure to the day. I would encourage you to check them out. I believe their website is www.goddardschool.com.

I currently have 2 girls (almost 2 and 6) that go to Peppermint Stick Children's Center. They have 2 centers, Round Lake and Grayslake. We have been attending the Grayslake center. My eldest daughter started there when she was 2 and has done well. They have a very structured day even for the little ones. I feel that they did a wonderful job preparing my daughter for kindergarten. She breezed through it with ease and her teacher was very impressed with the knowledge she had gained during pre-school. She now goes to PS after school and always looks forward to going. My 2 year just recently started, but has adjusted well. The teachers have been very patient and understanding during her transition to school. Like said before even her class has structure where they are starting to learn things. The teachers and staff are very nice and always greet you with a warm smile. I feel that I could approach them about anything. I have nothing but great things to say about them and I highly recommend them. They do have a website, if want to check it out. I hopes it helps.
