Find some cute hats and head scarves! Target has some adorable and very affordable hats out right now.
I'm five months pregnant and my hair has gone crazy. I've always had very thick, silky, dark brown hair. Now it has gone uncontrollably frizzy, fly away, coarse and kinky. I have been slowly greying over the past couple years, but now geez. It's taking over. I've had people I barely know crack jokes about it. I really don't want to color while pregnant as I'm afraid of exposing the baby to the chemicals. Do you guys have any product recommendations or tips to help tame this mess? This combined with my weight gain is making me feel pretty yucky right now.

There is no evidence that dyeing your hair while pregnant effects the baby. I did mine a couple of times when I was pregnant, my ob just told me to make sure i was in a well-ventilated area.
Isn't pregnancy the sexiest feeling?? NOT, lol!!!!!
You could get highlights in your hair. Highlights only touch your hair, not your scalp, so there is no danger in exposing baby (there isn't any danger anyways, it is perfectly safe to color hair when pregnant).
I feel your pain, I'm about 36wks pregnant, but I do color my hair because I already feel crappy enough with the extra 20lbs I'm carrying around!
Argan oil. It's a bit pricey but totally worth it. You only need 1-2 drops to tame hair and make it lustrous, so a bottle lasts forever. It is amazing on skin too. Seriously, it's a life changer.
I get mine from a local Chicago company called Orafrique (google them). Also, Josie Maran sells it in her cosmetics line. You can get it for sure at QVC and I think at Sephora.
Go to salon and treat yourself to some pampering - even if it's a facial or pedicure.
I agree, I did not want to color my hair when PG, but the dr assured me it was OK.
We found someone who will bring the salon to our home! So now I get haircuts, coloring, highlights, etc. AT HOME. Much cheaper and on my schedule.
My hair changed with every pregnancy. I had to find a new style and just roll with it.
I started to use olive oil on my daughter's hair. Be sure to put it on sparsely on ends when your dry hairs dry. Leave in conditioner (pro v) also works well.
Product!!!
If you have the money ($25)... try Bumble & Bumble 'Get Straight' gel (use about a 1/4 cup for shoulder length hair, put in while wet... it will make your hair feel *very* slippery until it's dry, but once dry you'll be able to run your fingers through it). Just scrunch through your hair (or brush through) and then style as usual. It won't make your hair straight, but it will *stomp* on the frizz.
If you need a less expensive option ($4)... Garnier Fructis makes really decent mouse. You won't be able to run your fingers through, but it will be glossy, bouncy and not sticky at all.
If you blow your hair out: Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum is absolutely FANTASTIC. Also about $25 but it lasts for MONTHS (as opposed to the gel which needs to be rebought every few weeks). Also stomps on frizz and leaves glossy/smooth/ protects from styling heat and humidity
How much grey do you have? If you just need a touch up, you can use a hair color marker. I use it on my grey roots. It washes out and has no odor.

I use a semi-permanent color on my hair. The Clairol Natural Instincts has the best conditioner in the box. It smells like coconut and tames my coarse, wiry greys and makes my hair feel smooth.
I have tried a leave in conditioner. Works well with my tangeled frizzy hair and leaves my hair smelling awesome. After I apply the leave in conditioner, I comb my hair and then apply gel and blow dry it. You can use mouse too.
I don't dye my hair, but my obgyn has informed me that it is safe, as long as it's a well ventilated area. Hope this helps.
