If there were 5 days between sex and ovulation, it's unlikely. The max that semen live is 5 days. So it's possible you got lucky and had a few swimmers left, but probably not.

So unless you had sex with a magical fairy tale giant, wait another week or so and test again.

Positive proof of pregnancy is delivery of a baby.
It sounds silly but there are a lot of things that can mimic pregnancy and mess with your period that are not pregnancy related.
I've seen some of the ads regarding pregnancy tests pushing the concept
'you NEED to know as soon as possible - it's the MOST important thing'
- it's complete BS and a marketing ploy.
Learn about your fertility and conception.
Even if an egg was fertilized, it takes time for it to travel the fallopian tube and implant in the uterus wall.
You can be pregnant and have no symptoms at all.
Just wait and see and in 4 to 6 weeks if you miss your period then take a pregnancy test and see what it says.
If it says no - believe it.

If you had unprotected sex, you could be pregnant. That you took a test 6 days after you had sex? Yeah...you could say you tested too soon.

If you had sex on 9/9 and are absolutely totally positive you ovulated on 9/14 (meaning you checked your temp and cervical mucus and all that), then you probably aren't pregnant. But how do you know for sure that you ovulated on 9/14? If you are just using the calendar and your usual schedule, you could be off on that and therefore could be pregnant. My first and only sign of pregnancy was heartburn. (ETA - yes, OnePerfectOne, I had it before my test was positive!!) But then again, a lot of things can cause it (from diet to stress about whether or not you are pregnant). Wait until you miss a period and test one more time. (Maybe try a different test manufacturer.) If you don't get a period and still don't have a positive test, then see your doctor for either a better test (e.g. blood test) or more investigation. But that means a period that's 2 weeks late to really be sure. I wouldn't spend any more money when you really just have to wait it out. If you're trying to get pregnant, assume you are and don't do anything you shouldn't, like drinking alcohol. If you don't want to be pregnant, then assume you are still fertile and use contraception (barrier methods obviously - nothing else if you think you could possibly be pregnant). Good luck - I know waiting is hard. When I worked in women's health, we always told our patients to assume both possibilities during this period of uncertainty.

Tested too soon. Some tests don't even register for a month and you were testing it hours later.

You can't test 3 days after you ovulate and expect to get a positive, it sounds like you many need a refresher course on your sex ed. If you are trying to get prego then wait until you have actually missed your period and test. The only thing heart burn indicates is that something you ate did not agree with you.
